North Korea is a very interesting yet terrible country. It is like that train wreck you can not stand seeing but all the gore and blood is just captivating. Here are 5 laws from that country that will interest you greatly.

1. All haircuts must be government approved.

North Koreans have only 28 haircuts you can choose from. But guess what?

Kim Jong Un's squashed marshmallow bunny look is not one of them! You would be put in jail for having his hair...

2. If you break the law, North Korea believes in 3 generation punishment.

That means if you break the law badly enough to get put in a prison camp, so will your kids, parents, and GRANDPARENTS!

3. Religion is banned.

The possession of a Bible is a one-way ticket to prison. A tourist once was put in prison for 6 months for leaving a Bible in a club.

4. You have to watch what they want you to on TV.

You can only choose between three channels. They are all government controlled, all show propaganda. DYK, in the cinema, they would rate a film where a couple hides behind an umbrella to give each other a quick kiss the NK equivalent of an R... They will show some dubbed Russian films, but they are very carefully vetted out.

5. Women may not ride a bicycle.

Just that. I do not think that is a strict law, but women will be told off.

6. If you visit, your mobile must be registered.

You have to register your phone and can only use a North Korean SIM card. You have to leave any device capable of GPS with the government during your visit. I have also read that if you are going to stay for a long time, especially to do research, you must be accompanied by two chaperones. Two so that if one betrays the country or tells you a secret, gets indoctrinated by your Western evilness, the other one is there to tell on him.

Bonus Facts:

The country's economy is terrible.Yet, they have over 35,000 statues of their great leader.

They go into schools and pick the wives out for their government officials and leaders. I guess if you are picked, you have to go no matter what. The ideal is a girl with a tiny red bow for a mouth, a flat face that has to be round, and really pale skin like one of the Twilight vampires, and perfect almond eyes. A meek personality and obsession over the great leader too I guess.

From the UK government page on foreign travel in North Korea

On 16 March 2016 a US national was sentenced to 15 years hard labour after a conviction for crimes against the state. He was alleged to have attempted to steal a political slogan from the staff quarters of a main tourist hotel. On 13 June 2017, he was released and returned to the US in a coma. He died on 19 June 2017.

I am so glad I live in the UK.
