Why do Arabs and Kurds hate each other?

They always talk about how much better they are than the other and everything. They like insult each other any chance they get its really sad.

Uh... sorry if I'm wrong but wasn't Iraq basically set up from 3 former ottoman provinces without regard to ethnic divisions? That usually doesn't end well. I assume that had something to do with it, especially if the government gave one group privileges like the French did in Lebanon.

And maybe now that former Kurdish territory was split among countries, they feel separate from the Arabs and hold themselves as such (and thus are treated as such)? I don't know - this is based on my interactions with my Iraqi friends; one was Kurdish and he always made a big deal out of saying he was from Kurdistan, *not Iraq*, which we all sort of just let go in order to maintain group harmony. The other Kurds didn't seem to care that much in the sense of expressing their identity versus the Arabs (like... there wasn't a lot of antagonism, they just described themselves as Kurds and sometimes talked about Kurdistan but he was pretty militant pardon the pun.)

Yeah Kurdish people are not just from Iraq a lot originated from Turkey, Iran, Syria, Azerbaijan, and Armenia as well. Iraq did belong to the British Revolution for along time. And yeah haha I know lots of Kurds like that to they want to be told that they are from Kurdistan the only Kurds who want their own country are the ones living in Iraq there are about 35 million Kurds in the whole world.

I'm pretty sure not all arabs and kurds though.. but I have known a kurdish here and an arab too, they don't go along well, I just didn't mind much..

@-Zoe- If I really had to pick I'd assume its because of the alliance they had with the U. S during some operations in the middle east. Personally I have no issue with them.

I have not heard such a thing. I guess lately Kurdish people wants to found their country. It should be related with it.

Kurds have wanted their own country for a long time its just that now it has spread to the American media.

i don't think muslim and religious kurds hate arabs or turks but secular kurds hate all muslim nations. they only love americans and other western nations because they are puppets of them in the middleeast.

A and Israel in the middleeast. look at how close ıraq kurdish federal state to u. s. a and look at kurdish terrorist groups in the middleeast like PKK, PYD, YPG e. t. c

The PKK is not a terrorist group lol are you serious? If that's the case then why don't the Americans help the kurds in Iraq? They only helped them fight ISIS cause U. S. A's troops were still in the Northern part of Iraq politically they are not the same they have many different beliefs and I know plenty of Muslim Kurds as a matter of fact I would say most Kurds in Iraq are Muslim and its funny you're saying this considering there are quite a good amount of Kurds in Turkey.

actually it's funny you know nothing about kurds' political situation in the middle east. pkk kiilled thousands of people and you are saying it's not a terrorist organization. if pkk isn't a terrorist organization then. al-kaidah isn't a terrorist organization too. yeah there are thousands of kurds in my country and pkk suppporters attack muslim kurds here. there are many muslim kurds, that's true but pkk militants and most of its supporters are not muslims. by the way it is funny you are saying U. S. A didn't support kurds lol. U. S. A supported kurds too much for its benefits. if U. S. A didn't support kurds, north ıraq kurd management would collapse and Kobani would be taken by isis. in addition U. S. A. supported kurds too much against Saddam Husein too in the past.

A supported Arabs when Saddam was in power too, oh whoops I was thinking of the PDK sorry about that, but still most terrorists are Arabs so if that's your argument its a weak one yes there are some Kurdish terrorists groups and those people in the PKK or any other Kurdish militant organization should die. But if that's your logic than all Arabs are bad cause most terrorists are Arabs, Al-qaeda is the biggest terrorist group and look how much damage they have caused, but I don't go around with a vendetta against Arabs do I? I could tell right off the bat from your first response that you hate Kurds

Not all, but Iraqi Kurdish relations are kind of rocky on account of all the war going on between them.
