Does anyone else believe that our our ability to define a situation in a social context is defining your true self"? Think about this in the context of your social interactions, everything you do is playing a role, so do we even know who we truly are?

Social interaction falls more into personality and tiny attributes. Humanity contribution defines your role to achieve wherever humanity is going. The "freeman" idea broke the roles of the Humanity Contribution. Everyone wants to live the "American dream", thus it created new roles.

So yes, once in a while we question ourselves, whats my purpose in life? What am I doing? Why do I have to do this, to get this?

Do I know my true self? No not really. I don't put on a mask, look at a mirror and write down stuff about me. I just do it. So I am what you call a "Do'er". People hate me because of the things I've done and achieved, and I've done it by avoiding gender roles and social categories. People today are all going in the same path. It could be a long path into the mountain; if that was me, id look for an easier route or why not climb up the mountain?

What you said incorporates what society expects from us and what we want for ourselves. it brings into question a notion that we are following a set if roles that might deviate from our true self, if there is something as such! Thanks for sharing!

"The True Story of Ah Q"

A man from the rural peasant class with little education and no definite occupation. Ah Q is famous for "spiritual victories", a very classical critic for all the self-ascribed intellectuals and self-deception even when faced with extreme defeat or humiliation.

Check into it if you wanna. It's an interesting read in this age of all this Eastern Mysticism where people don't realize how crushing it is to the human civilization.

As I have gotten older, I know myself better... don't depend on interactions or opinions of others, etc. from others as much as I used to. Perhaps, this is part of gaining maturity... not really sure.
