Is the term HABIBI used from man to woman a love term or just friendly?

Both. Also had very close friends who said that or friends of my father. If you like someone and you're kinda close you can say that. Of course saying it to his girlfriend is ment in another way than saying it to his brother.

Lol thats something you have to find out really. In most cases he wants you as his fiance but if its already clear that you have a Brother sister relationship then he only means it as a Brother.

u can use it towards anyone really, even between friends yeah.

if u really wanna be gender specific, it's habibi for males and habibti for females.

kinda like how we call women 'man' sometimes lol.

sorry i didn't answer the whole thing. it can also be used between lovers and family yeah. in English it means 'my beloved' so yeah it can apply to anyone u love :)
