Why do trucks fart?

Do you mean when they are stopping or going down a hill. If you mean when stopping trucks have air brakes to help them stop. The sort of chissssshhhh noise you hear is the pressure of the air used to work the brakes being released. If you mean when going down a hill they partly block the exhaust as this helps keep the truck under control going down the hill and allows them to use their engine to help with braking. Doing this kind of makes a loud sort of barking noise. Both of these make a noise which you could describe as a farting noise.

Now if your talking about when they are just sitting in one spot running well that is a different reason. Also when you say trucks are you talking big trucks like Kenworths or what I would call a ute which is a Chevy, Ford or Dodge ute that Americans also call trucks.

If you are talking about things like those Chevy, Ford or Dodge utes or pick ups or whatever you call them there are people that tune their engine to make it blow lots of black smoke. If you are just talking about the sound V8 engines have an uneven exhaust sound to start with.

Probably because most trucks have a crossplane V8 in them, so they have uneven exhaust pulses and make a burbling or "farting" noise.

No and all the answers have been not to my satisfaction. I'm talking about when they are let's say at a rest stop and the engine is off. Once in a while they let off gas it sounds like farting

First of all I'm not a dude. 2nd of all it sure sounds like farting. Obviously it is not farting. People fart but it sure sounds like
