There seems to be a few blurred lines between what we as a society consider overweight and full-figured. People will also often consider many girls on the edge of being overweight attractive even if medically they are at higher risk of diabetes, heart disease, arthritis, etc.
What do you consider the following girls: overweight; carrying a little bit of weight (i. e. not looking too bad but could lose some weight to be a little healthier and look a little bit better) or a good looking curvy? I realise that there may be some discrepancy between the models but am interested in GAGers' overall impression. Most of these girls are size 16 or under.

All of them look curvy except #4 and 5. To me curvy is hourglass figure, or possibly pear. They have big boobs sure, but big waistlines as well that gives them the "boxy" or apple shape look.
They're all overweight honestly, regardless of how sexy they may or may not be. Healthy? I'd say that none of them are a cheeseburger away from a heart attack sure, but #1, 4, and 5 definitely should not gain anymore weight.
I find it hard to believe they're not over size 16 though! They look large to me. But they do carry their weight well, much better than the average overweight women we see everyday.

I get that. usually curvy & skinny girls have a little muscle tone that allows that. but really and truly they are in a different category to the girls I am talking about
yeah well I did have a middle option for curvy non-skinny girls, but yeah, I think there is a pretty broad consensus that curvy skinny are not overweight so that is why I did not mention them.
but most them are curvy, I don't know if they're overweight. But they ARE curvy. So if you're asking an either or question where the two options aren't mutually exclusive, you're not gonna get any kind of valuable results
still, I would consider somebody 'overweight' as being over and beyond the standard of 'curvy' since 'curvy' to most people means that you are still attractive or healthy (as subjectively considered).
Hard to tell without knowing their exact info but they don't look exessively overweight or unhealthy, they just carry in the right places. Might be healthier to lose a little bit (but again hard to say without a doctors opinion or at least more info) but if they're happy with how they are then thats all that matters.

Body wise , in my opinion they are curvy and very attractive. But the whole curvy v/s fat labels are objective and typically I don't agree with mists views as to which is which. As long as a person is ok with their body I try not to judge and throw out labels.
Carrying a little extra doesn't make someone super unhealthy. Being vastly obese does. I'm really bored of this being brought up over and over. It's just as unhealthy to be stick thin. Stop commenting on women's bodies constantly and mind your business. If you don't like it then fine but it's not your body so whatever? Men don't suffer the same constant judgement.
It isn't the same. It isn't constantly being told you're unhealthy, unlovable, that you'll be single and alone forever. And also, that pressure comes from other men! It's all down to men deciding who should look a certain way, everyone needs to just back off everyone judging everyone for looking a certain way.
Week if you look at the poll, more men said curvy and more women said ' carrying a little bit of weight', so that would imply at least some of the pressure on women comes from men. As for men, I dunno, it seems like any reasonably attractive woman prefers a guy that is well-endowed.
But I am not going to directly comment on which gender has higher standards for beauty, it seems like something everybody head to sweat for a little.
I don't deny that the pressure comes from other women. Mainly because women get told constantly what guys like but it's the same stuff as slut shaming, I hate women who shame other women for anything. They don't deserve to be women if they do that. Though bringing up the subject of the size of someone's manhood seems irrelevant here, this wasn't about that. Where are your stats on 'reasonably attractive women' and their correlation to what size penis they like? Every woman is different, some women don't care about what size a guy is anywhere. Women have less extreme standards of beauty about the opposite sex when it comes to dating, that much I can say as a woman.
Ahh fair enough but I also don't think that's true? I don't go for muscular guys and I know plenty of women who don't. Muscles aren't something that attract me personally.

They are all overweight and their health is at risk.
I wouldn't say they're outright unattractive, because they all have nice facial features, but their bodies are unattractive in my eyes because of the excess weight.
I don't see how your personal opinion makes you an ambassador to speak on behalf of all men. I think you will find that quite a few would disagree with you.
Body shape dictates health. These women have hourglass figures, hour glass figures wether thicker or skinny generally have no health issues. Pear shape, apple and square shape bodies wether heavy or thin always have health issues and need to do a lot more to keep healthy. I thought this was common knowledge. Literally where you gain weight dictates your health.
Erm, I'm not at liberty to say as I'm not aware of US figures to compare. However, it can be very apparent from just going outside, UK obesity stats and how the BBC does a story on child or general obesity in the county literally every week.
I think women like that are completely lucky the carry weight in all the right place. And women are jealous of women who dont become butterballs after some weight gain. These women have breast and ass , women do squats and breast implants and call themselves curvy.

Fucked up how society puts this views of what's pretty on us, that being skinny is the defenition of beauty. What's makes you beautiful is accepting who you are and what your born with.
I dont care to judge whether or not they are unhealthy. I have nothing to gain from making that call but I don't find them to be particularity attractive.

I still think they represent unrealistic ideals, just a different flavor. The vast majority of women with similar body fat percentages are not even close to having those same proportions.
I like to consider healthiness because I think it is important that our attractiveness radars take into account factors such as what we consider in the other sex is healthy, realistic, etc. if we are demanding women conform to unhealthy and unrealistic standards then that is unethical in my view and socially, it is a big problem when you see these young women going anorexic to meet such standards. if there were more curvy size 12 and perhaps even size 16 models in magazines would lower the boundary a bit and have a positive impact.
The reason I said I dont care to label them as unhealthy is because I dont think Im qualified to do that just based on a picture. Plus I know if I did, there would be pissed off people commenting on my opinion saying that I have no right to label them as such without knowing their lifestyle.
So that's why I went with unattractive, as that implies subjective interpretation.
I think that they are overweight. In my eyes, beautiful women have a healthy figure, and these women clearly cannot be called healthy. Their body fat percentage must be way above the recommended level for women. Some of them looks good because of their pretty faces, but they will be definitely more attractive if they just lose some body fat.
Tbh, I don't really consider somebody fat unless you can see actual creases in the skin due to fat rolls. In these girls the arms and wrists are thin, they don't have much of a stomach, no creases from fat rolls and the bodyfat is evenly distributed into the thighs, ass and beasts where there is probably a little bit of muscle tone to push out the girls figures into a curvaceous hour glass.
On a second glance, I noticed that they do not have much of the fat rolls that you mention. But honestly the only one I think don't carry excess fat is woman number 2. Women number 1,3, and 4 show excess fat especially on their faces. If you look at their stomach, and imagine looking at it from the side, I personally think that it will bulge.
1, 2, and 4 are curvy and have perfect bodies in my opinion, but 3 and 5 are a little chubby. but i think the only reason any of these women look heavy is because they are tall. so they probably weigh around like 160-180. If a 5'0 girl had a similar body shape, she would at most only be like 130 and would still look small.
Some are a little bit of both but not overweight by very much- in my opinion. Maybe like 10lbs but to me being over or under weight by 10lbs isn't a huge deal to begin with. A lot of people struggle with their weight, both gaining and losing.
1 and 2 are carrying a bit of weight yet curvy and 3, 4 & 5 are also carrying a bit of weight but not as curvy as 1 and 2. (though #2 looks kinda unreal and her head looks unrealistically small compared to her body)
my primary point is that just cuase you're beautiful by SOME people's tandards, doesn't mean you're healthy. Nor that just because you're healthy, you're beautiful. They may correlate, but they sure as hell doesn't causate
yeah I get that, I just mean that generally speaking (but not speaking for ALL of the population) healthy physiques will be preferred over unhealthy physiques. Some unhealthy physiques may be considered healthy but again, most of these (though not all) will not be THAT unhealthy (e. g. the models posted above are only a little bit overweight at the most).
They could be moderately healthy and they could be very unhealthy, I can't be the judge of that. Looks wise I don't think they look bad, some even look good.
I don't think fat really gets distributed so conveniently by the body. realistically if a woman was overweight you would see folds of fat (accentuated by actual creases in the skin) where the stomach is and thicker / fatter arms.
I mean yeah. But genetically some woman have all the fat go to their ass while others have that same fat go to their bellies... It depends on your genetics
well, I don't know the exact measurements but I think that an average height, size 16 model is roughly 10 stone which is considered a 'healthy weight' according to UK medical BMI (body mass index) charts:
Number 2 is perfect. Not crazy about her face which is like a 7 but her body is absolutely perfect. Number 3 needs more boob and slightly less tummy, but still good.
that is a valid point because I did not account for photoshopping when I posted this question. but if they were not photoshopped, I would personally consider those girls within a healthy range.
I find a lot of curvy models ideal to be honest although I would not want them to gain more weight. I am honestly surprised at a lot of people's reactions (men AND women, lol).
number two does have some unnecessary make-up but still I think she would be very facially attractive without that and focusing on her curves alone, to me she looks like she has a good figure.
well with fat rolls, there are normally wrinkles/creases in the skin from the extra baggage, I can't really see that. the very last girl is hayley hasselhoff and looks a bit thinner from different angles (I purposefully chose an angle that looked a little bit larger just to have a conservative estimation):
Well you can't see em on the pics you just posted but anyway I said that no.4 and no.5 had fat rolls, anyway they are fat and I would never consider them attractive that's my opinion.
ok that's fair enough because attraction is subjective anyway. I was trying to look at this more objectively in terms of BMI and what is considered medically healthy or not by professionals.
In terms of BMI there's no way these girls aren't overweight I used to look a lot thinner than that when my BMI was 23 now I'm even more fit and healthy.
I realise that the question is ambiguous because it deals with the overlap between attractiveness and healthiness (the former is subjective / an idiosyncratic preference while the latter can only be determined by a medical or nutrition expert with information about measurements, diet and exercise). However I just want people to casually / informally chip in with their own subjective tastes (attraction) and approximate eyeballing (healthiness).
