+1 y1) I was Born and Raised in Saudi Arabia <3 I love it, it's my hometown although I'm not Saudi. Lived there for 18 years.
2) I'm going back there in 3 weeks, yay

9) Because Saudi Arabia is a new country, it's institutions and rules are still fragile, for example , with the issue of women driving, many women and MEN want women to drive, but Saudi Arabia still has a tribal system, some big tribes agree and some disagree which makes it harder to please everyone.
10) Women are treated badly in many countries around the world, actually all the countries, Saudi women tend to be very spoiled by the men in their families, at least financially.01 Reply- +1 y

Hmmm, I personally wouldn't want to visit. Hot, sand, and rules. But I'm sure great people are from/live in Saudi Arabia. Oh, and I think it's one of the most beautifully named countries. Pretty terrible country for basic rights I have in America. If I can't speak my mind, I'd rather not be in that country. But I think the malls look pretty. And it's probably not stifling for the everyday person, but the person who goes against the rules, faces really harsh punishment.00 Reply
+1 yMeh.
I don't know what the world thinks about Saudi because the world is full of individuals having their own thoughts. What an individual may think about Saudi mostly depends on how educated this person is, how open minded and where he/she is from.
There is a lot of prejustice towards Saudi Arabia and it's citizens thanks to mostly western medias and Saudi's close society.

If they did not have a source of wealth literally gushing up from the ground beneath their feet, they would be a 3rd world nation, and probably one of the worst off ones.
And with all that wealth, what do they get? An amazingly condensed number of people with gross amounts of money, an otherwise very poor population, and the wealthy live lifestyles of pure hedonism, able to do whatever they want, while funding a religious police that terrorize the average citizen for the smallest of infractions.00 Reply
The majority of Americans loathe Saudi Arabia, as we rightly should with them funding the ideological fascism that is Wahhabism. That, however, is mostly the Saudi government. I don't know much about the people, though. I'm sure that besides the extremists, there are some very nice people.

It's not a country I expect to visit, though, so my opinions are not the best informed.00 Reply910 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. From What I have heard they are a allied country to the U. S. mainly because of oil and because of that they can do things that would be considered unacceptable for any other nation. Like funding terrorism, it is believed that Saudi Arabia is the NUMBER ONE sponsor for terrorist organisations, they also have Sharia law and do public beheadings. Saudi Arabia has a very similar ideology with ISIS and the Royal family has also showed support for Al Qaida. But most people don't care or don't hear about any of this because the U. S. considers them a close ally and so everything is forgiven.

+1 yIt's a country run by an odious regime that executes gays for being gay, amputates the hands of petty thieves, and supports terrorism. It's also the hub of the Wahhabi strain of Islam that is behind so much of jihadist ideology. Members of the Saudi government lent support to some of 9/11 attackers and soon we're going to learn more about that when the classified and redacted portions of the "missing 28 pages" of the 9/11 Congressional Inquiry are made public. It's such a backward country that women aren't even allowed to drive.

I don't like it when people equate Saudi with Islam.
It is not an Islamic state, it is not ruled by an Islamic ruler.
That's not to say the people are bad, it's the government.
Saudi formed as a result of British imperialism.
The tribe of Saud ( British agents ) was funded by British to rebell against the Islamic Caliphate.
And the Islamic empire was carved up by Western powers.
They also have buisness relations with the USA and rely on them heavily.
But people are too ignorant and deluded by mainstream media to know that.00 Reply

The rulers of Saudi Arabia are orginally extremists they came from " wahabism " at first they were rebels to the ottoman empire and they wanted to rule mecca and madinah but the ottoman sultan saw them as well extremists so he send Muhammed ali ( not the boxer lol ) to kill them and after the ottoman empire ended they got to rule the country unfortunately

@Omar5881 Yep, and still today (Turkey) they think they're above others. Hell, they don't want to admit what they did to the Armenians was a genocide. No one is asking them to give special treatment to Armenians, just to admit it was a genocide.
Imagine if Germany refused to agree that the Holocaust was a genocide... :/
A barbaric Islamic hell hole, run by criminals whose ancestors were bandits and slavers.

+1 yThey give this charade to the world that are rich and moderate but in truth they have barbaric punishments for theft and don't treat women with any respect.
00 Reply I think it produces too many disgusting, violent, hate filled Muslims. That whole region should just get nuked so we don't have to hear about it for the next bunch of years.
112 Reply- +1 y
i think the only one who should get nuked here is you. What's wrong with YOU wishing to kill everyone in a region just because of what 'you' think and label them as. What about the kids and innocent people who have done nothing but live life peacefully.
All those thoughts you have about them, i promise you 100% that you have just been 'fed' those thoughts, nothing from your own knowledge or judgement. and you are not a person who has a right mind at all - +1 y
@Battooot you've either never read the Quran, or you have and are just completely lost. The terrorist in that region teach 5 YEAR OLD BOYS how to hold an AK-47 and they teach them IN SCHOOL to hate and kill non believers. What do you think those kids are going to be? They're the future terrorists. Get your head on straight man.
- +1 y
those you are takling about are ISIS, they are a terrorist group. They are not Muslims, and they are doing exactly the opposite of what the Quran and Islam teaches them to do. Even though they call themselves muslims. It's just like the KKK, exactly the same story of the KKK. do the KKK represent christians? that is IF you know about the kkk.
Your whole perception about Islam is wrong. - +1 y
Says Islam is hateful
Wants to nuke a whole region with mostly innocent people living their regular lives like anybody else around the world.
Well thanks for wanting to murder my parents and younger siblings! :p
I really like your comments in general around here , but I'm sorry this time I disagree BIG TIME and find it ignorant and VERY hateful, I have never ever heard a single Saudi in my whole life, while living there (18 years) saying something as hateful as this.
