Why Are Feminist and SJW Hypocrites?

This is based on my real life experience, college, and online. This is not true for individuals but I'm speaking of trends.

I know Racial-Ethnic Minorites who are against the idea of a superior race but then when it suits them they love to express how superior they are. - "Black don't crack, Asians don't raisin, White people food has no flavor, White girls are ugly and pale and look boring, color is better, Pride, etc"

Feminist-Women are against sexism but they will make harsh comments towards men. - "Women are better, we don't bald, we don't need men cause sex toys are better, if the world was run by women there wouldn't be wars, women are stronger, we give birth, live longer, have better fashion/style, are better leaders, write better and more successful books franchises - Harry Potter, Twilight, Hunger Games, 50 Shades of Grey, etc"

Many LBGTQ couples argue that they want to be treated and seen as equal and hate when straight couples act superior to them but then when it suits them they love to express how Superior they are to straight couples. - "Lesbain women/gay men are superior because they have more orgasm, Gays/lesbians are superior cause they have fewer divorces (bad comparison since gays marriage is a recent thing), Gays and Lesbian get along better than straights, gay people are better looking and smarter and more educated in science, GAY PRIDE, we dress better, etc"

They say body shaming is wrong while many shame skinny women "Men love women with meat and curves, only dogs go for bones", Many people who are against body shaming love to make fun of men with small penises - "Donald Trump has a small penis, no wonder he is always mad",

Many people who are against slut shaming love to virgin shame. They believe in "Their body their choice" but will shame a person who has a preference for a partner with a lower number history. Or shame a person who rather dates straight people or cisgender instead of bisexuals and transgender.

Many of these people who are advocates for equality and hate being judged for what they are will attack the other side for different qualities they have that fall under the same category. Where it doesn't become about being accepted anymore but about attacking the other side until your side is superior. Thoughts?

When people say these things they tend not to mean them seriously, they're expressing anger and frustration with how they're treated in society and reacting against that.

But I do agree especially in the cases of sex and body positivity that you brought up that it can be deeply unhelpful and even harmful to others.

There's a line between radical self love, rejecting societal scripts which say you're unlovable if you're not white, cis, straight, thin etc. and celebrating diverse identities, and shaming people for having identities they can't help which happen to be prized by mainstream culture.

Maybe some people don't really mean them and are just reacting out of anger and deep down they don't really believe what they say, but I do think many do, it's not just reactionary because they will even go as far as making articles, videos and studies to prove their side.

I think it's a minority who do make articles, videos and studies with these sentiments.

Activists might jump off from such ideas, for example when talking about things like toxic masculinity, but in the end we're critiquing culture, not people's identities. For example toxic masculinity as a concept doesn't mean that men themselves are toxic but quite the opposite; that society imposes on men norms and values which push them towards toxic behaviour, but it's no more natural for them than for people of other genders.

A lot of activists or 'sjws' actually see gender, the sex binary, race, and sexuality, etc. as socially constructed (myself included), so it wouldn't make sense for us to take the view that some identities are inherently superior.

I agree with Soteris too that because movements like feminism are made up of a lot of people and we're all socialised under the kyriarchy and so influenced constantly by toxic ideologies, people within the movements will do and say problematic things. We're all our own problematic faves basically. Some people do and say more problematic things than others, and some people within large movements will inevitably just have very divergent views, like Trans Exclusive Radical Feminists for example. That doesn't mean those people or the things who say and do problematic stuff while they're still learning about progressive ideas represent the movements as a whole. The reason progressives are so known for 'infighting' is we're constantly critiquing one another and potentially problematic elements of our own activism work.

One problem I encountered is I myself am black (well half black half white technically) and I am dating a white woman. I have to constantly face the backlash of "Why cound't you find yourself a good black women" and many people in my community tend to think black women are better or superior to white women. Sometimes the side that tries to fight oppression eventually become the monster they were fighting. My parents got this shit when they dated and now I'm getting shit for what I am dating. When the other side who fights for equality reacts to trying to fight fire with fire it just opens up another world of problems.

You even see another example of this in the black community where sometimes blacks hate lightskin/mixed blacks because they see it as "mixed with the enemy"

I think when situations that happen based on prejudice, it should always be addressed. We should always combat prejudice people, but if a white person thinks they are superior to me for example, my reaction should not be "oh yeah, well blacks are better then whites"

Self-pride does not have to equal "think you are superior to other groups". I love being black and white. My mother being german and my father being black. I speak English and german. I have african-american culture and german-american culture instilled into me. If I thought in the same way many of my community thinks, hating the other side, then I would end up hating half of me, and what makes my mother.

I see what you're saying, definitely those people are wrong to equate pride in their identity with being superior to others.

I guess I just take issue with what you said about the trends in progressive movements being towards thinking that way. I don't think that's the case. I think within movements there are people with those sentiments, but as a whole we're moving towards being more inclusive and uniting to achieve our common goals.

It's feminist to support both women who want to wear hijabs and women who don't. The key factor is choice; it's as oppressive to force women to wear the hijab and it's oppressive to forbid them from wearing it when they want to.

@Tabbie I agree, I am not against women wearing hijabs but I am against women who are forced to wear hijabs in an oppressive manner.

It's about shitty people wanting more benefits then the other. Women don't want equality, they use equality when suits them. Feminist are the most sexist person and they hate men. And the fact is that women have way more "privileges" than men. BLM doesn't care for black lives, they just want to say "white supremacy" out loud, ans they are the most racist people. Antifa people is the most fascist and oppressive people. Lgbts are the first putting them separate from heterosexual people. I try not to judge ALL individual feminist or social justice advocates in the same light, but I don't think we should ignore trends either.

Depends on how you cut it honestly. It is very easy to isolate a group of people that do not uphold the groups views and also in the case of Feminism especially we have cases where someone is far more interested in fighting for one aspect, such as for example equal rights between men and women but care very little about other aspects of feminism such as gay rights.

Either way you slice it this does not mean it is a problem with feminism as a movement or that feminists who actually believe in all that feminism stands for dont exist. A large part of the answer you are looking for is simply down to feminism not only being supported by feminists but also normal people who might have flawed world views.
