You millennials sure like to over do it with those memes. Over compensating for something?
Just kidding. I'm one of those guys who is considered a part of the generation before millennials but after Gen X... One of them 80's kids and 90's Teens. Can't remember what we're called other than the forgotten generation. Because of this, while X and Millennials finger point at who's fault is who's, we just sit back with none of the blame and watch the world burn.
Let me tell ya straight. Baby Boomers said the same thing about Gen X... Their parents said the same thing about Baby Boomers and their hippy ways, and now you got Gen X saying the same thing about millennials while also complaining about all the retiring baby boomers they have to sort out and fill employment gaps for, while also catering to their retirement and medical expenses. Meanwhile millennials complain that college and education is too expensive and its too hard to live on their own or find a decent job. Millennials are far more tied into their tech and social media stuff than any other generation.
Being from the middle between both generations, I know what it was like to have phones attached to walls with rotary dials and going to the arcade, playing outside with friends, going for Goonie adventures in the forest, and growing up with Atari, Nintendo and Sega. At the same time I also remember growing up with the emergence of the internet as a teenager, seeing the evolution of mobile phones and social media. I also remember college being expensive, difficult to live on my own and finding a decent job... But I still did it on my own and I busted my ass doing it. I'm still busting my ass to make ends meet for myself and my family.
I'm not going to say millennials are worse than Gen X or vice versa because I have been both sides of the coin (I am a product of both) and each generation has their issues.
Each older generation will always bitch and moan about the younger and is nothing new. Millennials will bitch about the next generation in time. And at each point, the generation growing into the next prime workforce will turn and finger point back at the older generation and point out all their failures while moaning about the new one coming.
Welcome to the cycle of life.

I am one of the older generation, and I don't think millenials are the worst.

This whole, "I tell ya, these kids today!" complaining literally goes back to ancient Greece. One of Plato's essays was about how the generation after him was lousy. That's about 2500 years ago! I wouldn't at all be surprised if Glook the Neanderthal probably shook his fist and grumbled, "Hate that rock and roll rubbish!" when his neighbor's teenaged kids banged a drum and played a flute.
What most older people are feeling is frustration at behavior that they believe is irritating and/or foolish. Furthermore, many people at about the ages 18-25 feel a very deep need, a forceful drive, to lock horns with anything old. It usually goes away by the time they're 30.
The older generation wish they were young but hate the young because it's not like their glory days so they can't live through them. Also the fact that they feel that since their growing up was "harder" than the new generation. They're automatically better and more able to survive. Not true, every generation is a population of humans with the same nature just given different environments that has it's set of pros and cons that are perfectly fit for that time period. Change of scenery and environments happen, it's a new age. Older generation, you had yours and it gave the path to this one. Calm down and let people be people.
The older generations always think the younger ones are the worst.
“Our young men have grown slothful. There is not a single honorable occupation for which they will toil night and day. They sing and dance and grow effeminate and curl their hair and learn womanish tricks of speech; they are as languid as women and deck themselves out with unbecoming ornaments. Without strength, without energy, they add nothing during life to the gifts with which they were born — then they complain of their lot.”
Seneca, c. 100 AD
There are two rules when dealing with discussions about different generations of people.
No matter how far you go back there will always be these two things.
1). The youngest generation is always the worst from the older generations perspective
2). The oldest generation is to blame for all the worlds problems
Both are partly true, but both are most notable for their gross omissions.

no i do not. members of the older generations will always think the younger generations are the worst.
Yeah they do. Well there are a subset that cry and get offended over everything imaginable plus more, there are also a lot of really hard working millenials.
We're basically judged for not having a fully time decent job, being married, and owning a house and care by the age of 20 but at this day and age that's extremely hard to do independantly. I remember writing a resume and cover letter in careers class back in high school. The teacher though it was amazing and kept it as an example for future years. I aplied for jobs over town with that resume and with a few others to get relevant skills for the job but nothing was hiring. Same followed through half way into my university career.
The thing a lot of older generations don't understand is that it's harder for us than it was for them. We need a college/university education (or trade skill) to get a decent livable job and they didn't even need a high school education. If you enter a science based progeam 90% of your time is going to university, the other 10% is basically taking care of yourself. A lot of places on top of this don't hire university students because they want someone with more open schedules.
With people pursuing post secondary education, most don't have the time and aren't able to make enough money to get a house and car early on in their 20's. Those that do usually are living in a cheap apartment or renting a room somewhere (possibly both with room mates), and get a cheap used car with cheap insurance that could get them from point a to b with little problems. Usually people working a lot aren't going to university full time (and for those that do their marks tend to suffer).
As for getting married it's not really on a lot of our priority list because we're usually working hard to get our life together anyways. Which is why we put getting married off.The best to worst generations go from newest to oldest. This is just a fact judging by the downward trend of overall bad things happening in this world. Less poverty, mortality rates are going up, celebrities, men and women or all colors are speaking up against injustices that older generations did nothing about. People overall are making more money and more millionaire are being made every year than there have ever been in past generations. Gen Z in particular is truly exceptional in comparison to the rest.
I think each generation has its good and bad people. But my generation (millennial) seems to have on average many more people who are spoiled, disconnected with reality, lazy, entitled, misguided, lacking value on life, socially awkward, no verbal communication skills, addicted to porn, needing safe spaces, and just not much to offer society in general as far as skills.
I experienced the transitioning effect from our previous generation to our current generation. I remember when there were no smartphones, no social media, no memes and no "likes", that little girls tend to overthink a lot or little boys spamming pictures of their genitals everywhere online.
Even i am disgusted how we turned out to be. I call this degeneracy.
I would prefer to go back into the old skool stuff with love letters, more face to face interactions, lesser getting upset about a like somewhere and generally lesser smartphone usage in social events as well as in relationships.
For me this practice separates the strong and the weak.
Millennial is an insult to me today. Please do not call me one today. Even if I'm part of it.Here's a little quote from Socrates.
"The children now love luxury; they have bad manners, contempt for authority; they show disrespect for elders and love chatter in place of exercise. Children are now tyrants, not the servants of their households. They no longer rise when elders enter the room. They contradict their parents, chatter before company, gobble up dainties at the table, cross their legs, and tyrannize their teachers."
So for over 2000 years older people have complained about younger people. What does that tell us? Every generation has a romanticised view of a bygone era.I don’t think there is a ‘worst’ generation. Millennials have their strengths, but they are deficient in many ways.
One of those ways is rampant denial, and that’s really what gets on others’s nerves. Millennials complain about their lives to no one end, yet nothing is ever their own fault or responsibility. It’s always someone else who victimized them. If they could ever get over that and accept responsibility for their own lives, they’s be OK. But I haven't seen that happen yetI barely count as a millennial, so just looking at my own generation I wish I was older and looking at the older makes me want to be even older. (I see the inconsistent money distribution and planning, because people seem okay with having things that will not last)
I agree that millenials are a really troubled generation. But it only happened because older generations were unable to raise their kids properly overall, and make them be worthy and strong adults.
Every generation says that about the new one, so no
Baby boomers ruined the economy.
Generation X ruined relationships with extreme feminism and promiscuity.
Millennials whine and complain, are offended by nearly everything, and spend too much time on their phones when at work getting paid to do a job they are ignoring. Not as much as is made out to be but up to a point yes, it’s the affect of the environment that we grew up in largely. Everything is so fast paced now and is at hand at the touch of a button so people do go about things differently with different expectations which aren’t always necessarily good. However we have a lot more stress to deal with too in today’s modern environment so it’s all having a negative affect in certain ways.
I have way more faith in my fellow millennials than I do the 'old' generations.
That's really stupid of them to say since they raised us
Yes, honestly, the world would be a better place if we just go back to the '60s where people were not needlessly hypersensitive.
Gen X is ok. The Baby Boomers are the worst they ruined the economy
Are most of the older generation racist, religious, homophobic, and sexist?
The elders are correct. We are idiots, most of us that is.
Older generations always think the younger one is complete shit. It's the way of the world.
Every generation thinks the next one is the worst. I think that's very narrow-minded.
