Yes... people nowadays are acting like horny animals, though most animals don't do stuff humans do... People wouldn't let a stranger into their house but would let a stranger f* them... then they wonder why cheating is so common and why relatonships don't last... because when you change sexual partners like socks then being in a commited relationship is for those people what wearing the same pair of socks for the rest of their lives is.
Yes exactly, that's a huge problem. I mean back then even if people had sex before marriage, even if they were atheists they didn't do it that openly, I think it's because people are less religious nowadays...
@wankiam We're probably making different observations.
I see low self esteem as a particularly harmful condition, that's very out of control, and a lot of it is driven by the internet, with Instagram, Facebook, easy access to porn etc being big offenders. Probably various other things that I'm not even aware of.
But, I'm also aware of how much bigger a problem this is in the Anglophone world, as opposed to Europe, for example. As a big generalisation, people there are more able to function and develop without having that kind of thing shoved in their faces every day from the age of about 11 up.
I can understand why people might focus on different aspects, and see it as a positive thing, but that's where I come from, in a nutshell.
hardly a nutshell but i see your point and indeed these kinds of questions are difficult to answer given all the differing cultures and religions etc that use the site. i can only speak personally and for me we should all be open and honest about sex whilst at the same time not shoving our sexuality down any one elses throat... punn not intended. i dont think anyone should judge but some do like to marginalise themselves and invite judgement at the same time. to me sex education is inportant in our high schools not to encourage promiscuity but to educate kids on birth control and to combat the non real world of porn.. i dont mind if someone is gay straight fluid or fucks their car but i think its better to understand it than try to repress it but i dont think thats what you was getting at so perhaps we do have common ground here
@JimRSmith I actually don't fully agree here. Openness is just an abundance of information. Blocking information always has negative consequences. Openness should be appreciated, but it should be exercised along with moral virtues.
@Benedek38 that is a good point but its also only fair to conclude that in some cases it can be missconstrewed as encouragement. im all for freespeech for example and against all this talk of censorship of the internet but at the same time recognize it can be used a s a catalyst to push many negative agendas. its very difficult to corelate the two
@wankiam That's obviously true, but the question is - does censoring certain ideas stop them from spreading? In some cases, it does - but msot countries that have successfully used legislative social engineering share a common trait - they are oppressive. China, the Middle East, North Korea... all horrible places that no sane human would want to live in as someone with opposing viewpoints.
And in the somewhat liberal west (let's acknowledge thta even the right wing is liberal here as compared to most places) censoring things has always lead to some kind of backlash from the underground. Case in point, mainstream media is slowly being pushed out by alterantive news sources.
@Benedek38 thats also true to a certain degree... certainly on china etc but its is a mistake to think that maybe google isn't itself a form of echo chamber or direct manipulation by the ones sitting right at the top of the pile beyond political belief systems maybe western agendas are different but at least in countries such as china and nth korea the censorship is obvious. think of it like this... the question was about sexual attitudes and we could maybe assume the proliferation of porn is greatly to blame for younger peoples notion of what sex should be... all the sites like pornhub, hamster, youporn etc are own outright by the same company yet no one looks into the illegal monopoly side of this

Overall, I am all for supporting independant or alternative channels, but that doesn't actually address the question of morality regarding sexual awareness in today's society. If anything, that's just a silent way in which censorship and propaganda operates.
I actually think there should be some government legislation requiring companies with a monopoly to become majority public property. This might rub people the wrong way, but supposing the government accurately represents the will of the people (which is another issue that needs to be addressed), this way monopolies can't influence the masses as easily.
@Benedek38 i dont know you and given the ignorance of most people here most of what i say isn't just directed to the person im talking to... sorry about that, its clear you have intelligence on your side but to what extent i also dont know. if you said hypernormalisation to most people they look at you gone out. ok so my point on porn sites is that shaping ones searches is as much manipulation and a for of censorship as a total shut down in other areas of the world. different agendas maybe but similar if not more underhand techniques. im not trying to preach or mansplain to you but just tell you how i see it just as im intersted in your version. if you read through what i said it was mainly agreement with aditions and surely thats not a bad way to discuss something and form a better understanding is it? none of us know it all

Very interesting... I also read that most pagan religions in Europe like the nordic, romans and greeks had events of sexual orgies and week long parties. We often think that religions restrict sexual urges, but in the past they encouraged it.
Even as a non religious person, I still understand that we have pushed boundaries too far the other way, that "way" being too openly sexual.
We can't repress our sexuality but we can't indulge in it without rationality either. We suppress our sexual impulses about rape, which is a good thing. We should also embrace sex and sexuality in a smart and healthy way, and it is not healthy to have casual sex; mentally or emotionally.
I. think people. should embrace thier right to be who they are but not over react to closed. minded. opinions. how about feeling compassion for those who only hate. Can you imagine never ex0ierenceing love not the misconception i love her or him so i will own it her him them or destroy it. But love that can only bring you to let go if needed. people can't we decide to live and let live salvage what is relavant to your soul before it slips away. Seek like minded people to discuss your sexuality otherwise your in a vicous circle pretending to accept things you have no right to judge. Go tell whomever or see whatever.. Whatever your soul desires go take a bite and thank your neighbor from the LBGTQ COMMUNITY. these are people just like d8fferent religon and races... wake up accept what u find unacceptable learn what seems unfathomable. then look inside yourself and love yourself heal free your soul mind and achieve eternal peace.
I dont think so. What happens between consenting adults is entirely up to them. Certain puritanical attitudes towards sex are too repressive and lookto shame people for indulging in a perfectly natural pursuit
