Should I send a friend request to my crush on facebook?

I like this guy but we don't know each other and I used to see him around but now I barely do. I want to get to know him, and I found his facebook and I want to add him but I'm not sure if he would apporve. I have tried to add my crushes on MySpace and some added me but didn't talk to me and one guy talked to me once but he wasn't intrested in me. But yea I would like to hear a guys opinion about what I should do and if adding them would turn them off or on.

Thanks to all that responded, all went well, he added me ! now I just have to figure out what I should write in my message to him. I hope he responds.

It's facebook...It's about the equivalent of saying hi to someone on the street. It's really not that big of a deal. I know what you mean though I recall freaking out over the exact same thing a couple years back. It's hard to actually think something through logically when you care that much about the person. Really though think about it: If he likes you then he'll be happy about you adding him, if he feels neutral towards you he probably won't give it much thought-people add each other on fb all the time- and if he actively doesn't like you, you probably would have figured it out by now through various signs from him. Either way even if you add him and he completely ignores you and never speaks to you again (which I can just about guarantee won't happen) it's not as though you overstepped some kind of boundary by adding him on facebook. It's just a social networking site, don't worry too much about it. Good luck

Definitely add him. Like someone else said, it's just facebook. It's really not a big deal at all, and it can come in handy. My crush and I have basically only exchanged birthday messages on facebook (he's not really big on facebook anyway), but I've used it to invite him to events and stuff when I don't happen to see him in person. So basically, there's no harm in adding him even if nothing comes of it.

I do it all the time. I added my crush(I see him at school daily) I don't talk to him online unless I want to ask him something kinda private. I have don't know if he likes me (I think there is chance). You could always try.

Yeah I messaged him mainly (december and last month) about whether or not I was annoying him and about this band audition thing he had missed. I only messaged him about 3 times (differnt messages) Like I just sent one a few days ago and I don't have a response yet, but I also know he doesn't get online for facebook a lot.
