Does she want me to call her?

I've been working with a girl for the last few weeks on a project at work, which has now come to an end so I probably won't see her again by chance. I've been getting some signals that she might like me (difficult to tell, as we haven't been alone together and she seems quite shy).

Just before we parted company I struck up a conversation so that I could ask her out. The only negative thing was that I felt like I had to keep it going and she wasn't making it easy for me to ask. However, eventually I said we should keep in touch and go for a drink sometime. I gave her my number (mistake according to some, I know) and then she said "Yeah, definitely" and gave me hers.

I know this isn't much to go on, but do you think she is interested or was just trying to be polite? If the latter then I don't want to bug her...

It's really hard to tell since we don't have much info to go off of. The good news is she probably wouldn't of given you her number if she thought you were a creep haha. Just keep in mind that she doesn't know you all that well (yet) so the next few steps you take in your friendship will make or break it. Good luck though!

I think you should contact her, and see where it goes from there. If she wasn't interested in at least seeing you, she wouldn't have given you her number as well. If it doesn't work, out, then it doesn't work out. It won't hurt to try.

Thanks Sarah, I'm pleased to hear that. The only thing was that I felt the conversation didn't flow too smoothly, and when she said "Yeah, definitely" it wasn't with a huge amount of enthusiasm (but neither was it forced or awkward). But perhaps I am focussing too much on the negatives, and I suppose the fact she volunteered her number is the best sign...

Well, you were the one who was there. But personally, I don't think I'd say "definitely" if I didn't mean it. I'd say "sure" or something. And really, what do you have to lose? Even if she says "no," the outcome is no worse than if you didn't ask right?
