Are most Americans aware Europeans don't like them very much?

Im personally not bashing Americans and im sure a lot of the media doesn't help matters. Im pretty mutual on the situation besides the over dramatic, bible bashers you find on g@g, don't even get me started on their logic 😂. I've been America a lot and not all are that bad and some are actually extremely polite, sweet, warm hated people.

Its just us europeans struggle to tolerate some stuff from Americans sometimes without sounding cruel and i sometimes wonder if Americans are aware a lot of us europeans wished they'd zip it sometimes.

All jokes aside, i don't want this to become a hateful discussion on either sides, i just want open honest opinions were we can all can talk out are differences and learn from each other...

We don't talk to Europe so I don't know why we should "zip it". IF your talking about our media, we don't control that (the media is pretty much pure evil here in the US and they lie constantly. They are no friends to the US). Otherwise we don't really do anything (we don't even travel to Europe that much compared to other groups (which of course we are told we are pieces of shit and ignorant and stupid for not doing, but then at the same time when we do we are told we are stupid and ignorant pieces of shit that should stay in our own country (because their is no pleasing you people).

We are told that we need to mind our business but also to come in and save every one and give you all our money and our soldiers to defend you and protect your interests (72% of NATO's funding comes from the US. NATO has nothing to do with us, its to protect Europe not the US yet we are the ones funding it while most of Europe (with the exception of the UK, france, poland and greece, don't bother paying into it (but still expect us to maintain it and everything else because if we back out we are the pieces of shit because you know, reasons.).

We are told constantly that we are ignorant and don't understand geography or the rest of the world because we don't travel like europeans do. Yet europeans have no idea how the US works, they think that New York and Texas are right next to each other (as one youtuber pointed out, he had friends come into new jersey and he asked them were they wanted to go, so they said texas not realizing that its a two day road trip just to get to the nearest border of texas (fun fact, we can fit the UK's into texas about three times. The UK is multiple countries and they still don't match up to ONE of our fifty states. Its not even the biggest one either (California and Alaska are larger)).

We are also told we love our country to much and we shouldn't be proud of it as we don't have a culture and as a result we should be more like european nations and change who we are to fit what Europe thinks we should be. Apparently you can be proud of where you come from unless your an American, then you have to be ashamed and never once speak about your nation (despite the fact that we have plenty to be proud of and that pride is what unites us as we are a more varied people then all of Europe).

In short yes, europeans hate us, tell us we should hate ourselves, hate our history, hate our nation, hate our culture/nonexistent culture (can't seem to make up their minds on that one), mind our own business but also keep giving our money and resources to them because they deserve them and are told we are greedy and selfish despite being the most generous nation in the world (provably, both nationally and individually based upon statistical data).

The real question is why? We don't hate you but you hate us and we just don't know why (wouldn't really care except that Europe demands everything from us, gives nothing, then tells us we are the pieces of shit. Its basically a toxic relationship honestly).

The only issue I really have with the US is how invasive it's media is - US news clogs my Twitter and YT feeds constantly. I really couldn't give less of a shit who you're electing. Especially not when as soon as you elect one your news is immediately talking about who's going to be elected next in 4 years time.

The only issue I have with many US individuals, is that they seem to struggle to understand the difference between 'The USA' and 'The World'. The number of times I've stated some political position, only to have some idiot respond 'But deh constutushun say...' Like, not everyone on a forum is talking about US-specific politics, nor does US-specific law make for a compelling argument in an international conversation - it's not all about you.
Oh, and while I'm at it, argumentum-ad-first-amendment doesn't work, either.

No. They're not. But then the average Americans lucky they know how many states they've got & where the capital of each is. The education system is the pits in many places. You can't expect them to know much beyond their bubble... pretty sure some think world's still in the Cold War for how they dither over Russia/Eastern countries.

No disrespect is intended in my answer. Anyone who is successful is going to be hated. America (for the most part) has been the most successful and powerful nation in the world, which is a threat to other nations. We have flaws like anyone else, but we are less judgmental than Europeans as a whole. When Europeans come to America, we make them feel welcome. We feel no need to compete with Europeans. However, when we go to Europe, Europeans are not very tolerant of us. Maybe instead of hating on America, Europeans should figure out how to fix their messes first. Americans tend to care more about our affairs than the affairs of other nations (maybe not our government, but the average American could care less what happens overseas). My challenge to Europeans who dislike Americans is to figure out why you do not like us and if your dislike has any true foundation (meaning you dislike us because we cause you harm) or if it is unreasonable (meaning you do not like us because we hurt your feelings). If it is the latter, you're probably in the wrong because life does not revolve around your feelings. Personally, if anyone told me they did not like me, I'd play them a violin and tell them to go stuff themselves because I do not care what others think. Maybe another reason Europeans hate us is because we are not as emotionally fragile. Finally, a typical mistakes Europeans make when forming opinions about Americans is thinking the people in our government act like Americans. Truthfully, our government goes against our will.

I believe that most societies around the world are made up of lovely people who all generally want the same things - a prosperous life, a safe environment, family, friends, and good times.

It's our leaders that are screaming crybabies and greedy a-holes who can't get along with anyone, starting wars, interfering with other cultures, etc.. None of us want this shit, in any country.

I view most Americans in an unfavorable light anymore because most of them have completely lost their ability to view any issues with objective reality. Everything has to be left/right and black/white even though the world we live in doesn't support those outlooks. It's group delusion equatable to the most fanatical religious cults.

It's hard to even have a conversation with dear friends anymore because they open their mouths and start spouting propaganda that is so removed from reality that I can't help but feel a deep disgust towards their intellectual laziness and stupidity. I’m an American who has spent a great deal of time in Europe. A lot of European criticism of the USA is well justified. Europeans shake their head at our over-the-top flag waving and exceptionalism. It’s often beyond patriotism; well into nationalism territory. Europeans see it quite objectively for what it is. What I don’t appreciate from Europeans is the “everything bad comes from America” attitude, which a European will tell you while wearing blue jeans, smoking a Marlboro, and listening to rock & roll, with absolutely no sense of irony. Differences aside, I think American/European relations have been very good in the past and will be again. I’ve made some of my best memories in Europe.

I'm honestly not sure. I see firm dislike if not downright hatred for Americans very frequently. For a long time I assumed people just really disliked us but I've put out a poll a few times asking if that's truly how people feel about us and each time a large majority of people said they don't feel that way about Americans. That's not to say that there aren't a lot of people who do, I'm sure there are, but I think we're seeing a vocal minority. And to those who feel this firm dislike for Americans, I'd imagine they wouldn't feel that way if they sat down and got to know the average American.

I think most are not aware. Most don't seem to be concerned with that either. Maybe Europeans are more conscious of things like that because Europe has so many countries close to each other and people travel between countries a lot, so they are more aware or concerned with other countries' perceptions of them. America has few neighbors and the neighbors they have don't ever give America problems.

Plus America has a lot of immigrants who are people that tried very hard to get into America, and a lot of the third world actually look up to America because they believe a lot of what America says about itself. I think it further makes America feel more confident about how the world perceives itself.

I go to Europe a lot and I would say that you might be the only one there that hates me. Given you are from the UK, whenever I have been there I had a blast, as most enjoyed the novelty of a yank. Most Europeans I meet love the US. It's all who you meet. Most of us don't care what Europeans think since you're all on a different Hemisphere. What Europeans always forget is that our country is the size of Europe, we don't cross borders to purchase groceries like many Europeans do. We don't visit other countries weekly because we cannot just hop on a train and be in Germany in like an hour. We have 2 borders, and both those countries are also comically large so international travel isn't that easy for us.

I've been very aware for a long time that it's fashionable for Europeans to dislike Americans. And as an American I really don't care, except for the fact that the American taxpayer subsidizes in a disproportionate manner most European NATO countries' defense. Only 7 or so of the 29 NATO countries actually spend on the collective defense what they have agreed to spend (at least 2% of GDP). So when the people of the freeloading countries look down their noses at Americans they should realize that we wish that they would at least carry their own weight in what is supposed to be a defensive alliance.
