Well we are not scared of U. S actually, on 1974 when we were there to secure our people from Greece and Cyprus butchering them under a terrorist organization group called "ENOSIS" which means "re-union" in greek language and their aim was cleaning the entire island from Turks, just claiming it for Greeks. We sent our military there and we didn't even care about U. S threats despite USA threated us to get into fight against us but we didn't care about it and claimed what we deserved from the island. If we scared from USA we would step back as soon as they warned Turkey but their word didn't make any sense and didn't change our mind.
Today, we have a shit government and such a shame. I never voted for them ever in my life and yeah they really like to sit on USA's lap for years, they have too much things going on with USA and they don't have balls to mess with USA cause of this reason but these times will pass and Turkish government will be led by Kemalists again hopefully.
Got collapsed against Russia? Not totally right and not totally wrong. Since 1683 Ottoman Empire was fighting non stop against Europeans powers from everywhere especially to Habsburgs, then after 1699 Treaty of Karlofca Russians got the advantage of Ottoman Empire suffering from European powers so they wanted to get a piece. Until 1800s Ottoman Empire held it's ground well and defeated both Habsburg Empire&Russian Empire at the same time on 1715 Austro&Russo - Turkish War but after 1800s when uprisings began in our lands especially Balkans, Ottoman Empire couldn't deal with all of them and got collapsed. It wasn't cause of Russia lol, at end of WW1 we were surrounded by Allied Powers, they were there to cut our throat but we kicked all of their asses at the same time tho.

When first European settlers migrated to Europe and saw the bird there they wanted to call it Turkey cause for some reason they found similarity with Ottoman Sultan's fury clothes, Turkish Sultan's were known wearing heavily fury and European settlers thought it's a similarity with their stupid mind and called it as Turkey to remember it's name better. Our country's name is much much older than their shitty-stupid thoughts about the bird.
