Why are so many Republicans anti vaccine?

It seems many Republicans are getting more and more backwards and ignorant since Trump. Wow Why would people not want protection against a deadly virus? Am I missing something? I have no sympathy for people who get sick when there is a prevention. So be it.

It's a completely new type of vaccine and it was rushed. Aside from this covid one, I've gotten all my vaccines. I'm not an anti-vaxxer. I just know that new medical procedures can come with unforseen side-effects, some of which don't come to light for decades.

If you want my honest opinion, I think it's most likely that there aren't any problems with it (at least not for a vast majority of people). I'm confident in our medical professionals. That being said, nobody is perfect and I'd rather, at least for a period of time, let others take the risk.

For me it's kind of twofold. Firstly, unless you have and already compromised immune system, covid-19 is survivable 99% of the time. So unless you have an already compromised immune system, why bother taking the vaccine? Secondly, now there's these new strains. In which case, why bother taking the vaccine when it's going to be almost worthless for the new strains?

All that said, if you have a compromised immune system I understand, and even encourage you to take the vaccine. It's just that for most of population it seems kind of unnecessary.

Everything gets stupidly politicized nowadays. Democrats support he vaccine so now Trump's followers are against it! What they don't know is that Trump himself got vaccinated at the start of 2021 and he's actually urging people to get vaccinated (  ). If he can't convince his followers to get vaccinated I don't know what will.

He did the Warp speed and got the Vaccine rollout started.. And even at CPAC he said to take the vaccine.. Now, I personally don't agree on that.. But it seems Republicans think for themselves and actually do the research instead of listening to the Democrats' Lord and Savior Dr. Tony Froggy Fraudchi.. So yeah..

Don't believe it. It is just an attempt by the media to create a narrative that conservatives are anti -science. Like most polls used by the media they are made up lies.
I got the first shot a couple of weeks ago along with hundreds of my fellow conservatives. I didn't see a single Biden bumper sticker in the parking lot but I saw quite a few Trump stickers along with Back the Blue and Hillery For Prison stickers.

The part where you don't just let the government inject whatever it wants into you.
And also the part where most of the world started rolling back the vaccine because of problems. The people who are insanely enthusiastic about getting the jab instead of waiting to see if it's true safe are psychos. If you're under 70, you'll also certainly be fine without the vaccine.

A lot of the Republicans never thought the virus was a big enough deal to shut the economy down anyway... why would they want to get a vaccine for a disease they didn't think was a big deal?

I don't trust this vaccine, period. I'm confident in the strength of my immune system. I've been training it for years. I took my required vaccines when I went to SE Asia over 8 years ago. But I have no intention of going anywhere anytime soon aside from to and from work nowadays. This whole "pandemic" stinks something fierce and you all know it but refuse to acknowledge it.
