Probably Professor Hugo Strange. A brilliant, though unethical psychiatrist and psycho-analyst. Sure, if you're anybody of importance, you probably wouldn't want to trust him, but for an average Joe or Jane, he'd probably be able to help you out.
He's a DC comics villain. Using his skills of psycho-analysis, he carefully studied Batman and figured out that he was Bruce Wayne. Professor Strange attempted to sell Batman's secret identity. Batman stopped him and Strange grew to hate Batman. That hatred grew into an obsession. Strange used his knowledge of genetics and psychiatry to develop mind control and used it to try and kill Batman. Ultimately, Strange hopes to become Batman after he kills Bruce Wayne.
Basically he is this incredibly brilliant guy, although narcisstic. He started off as a superhero but realized it was all in vain with nuclear war being a threat. I won't spoil anything else from here, but its pretty good.
Hans Lada played by Christoph Waltz in "Inglourious Basterds". if he was actualy on your side, i think he would be a great, relatable person with lots of life experience and quite a strong intellect.

i mean large parts of the greatest groundworks of psychology was made in german (y). Sigmund Freud, Alfred Adler, Carl Gustav Jung, Wilhelm Wundt, Erich Fromm... psychology and psychotherapy wouldn't exist as we know it today without those great german minds which in parts happened to live through the nazi era.
generally a lot of medical/psychological shit that we know to day, we only know because the nazis did all that inhumane shit to the jews. not to justify any of that. just saying that we wouldn't otherwise be as far as we are today.

Elliot anderson is definitely a great mind i hugely rspect. i am very familiar with is cognitive dissonance theory as well as with his lector, Leon Festingers work on social comparison theory. i think those are great minds in their respective fields, which is "social psychology", not so much doing groundwork in individual psychology to my knowledge.
with John R Anderson i'm not that familiar but as far as i know, he's also more a name in specialized cognitive psychology, not so much in more broad general groundwork in psychological structure.
that is to say: i don't know which structural model (s) of the human psyche you are referencing when you name those people.

i definitely agree that his oedepus compex probably a problem. though i don't think that his structural model of the human psyche: Id, ego, super-ego was ever bested. in fact a lot of the big names like Herbert Blumer, Franklin Henry Giddings, Ralph H. Turner, George Herbert Mead and even Max weber do use and reference that model partly by direct reference, partly by developing super similar ideads in their groundwork on how the entire freaking society works and that shit is also still relevant to day.
so please: if you know a better model, show me. i'm actually interested.
As for why: he's a master at manipulating people as a cult leader. I figure he has a pretty good insight into how people think. And James Earl Jones has the coolest voice ever.
Darth Vader would be really interesting. I'm imagining therapy sessions with the breathing sounds throughout! Hannibal Lecter was the first that popped into my mind although I thought it might be a tad straightforward since he's already a psychiatrist. Morgana from Excalibur (1981) played by Helen Mirren is another one that strikes me as being a very effective therapist along with Joker (Heath Ledger version) from The Dark Knight. Also Terry Silver from Karate Kid 3; he's such a ridiculous and over-the-top character but he has those kinds of piercing eyes that seem to be able to look into someone's soul while toying with them.
