Why is there social pressure to save your virginity until marriage in America?

When I lived with my relatives in Europe they didn’t care that I had a girlfriend but in America my friends and family would kind of reject and shun me for that. Why such social expectations in America?

Bible belt mostly so of course it's religious. This also goes hand in hand where parents force the child to marry their rapist even as young as 10 years old in the last decade to rapists in there late 20s even 30s.

If that wasn't bad enough, a rapist of this nature is running for a national government office right now. Even though the wife committed suicide when she was 20 years old. Still getting endorsements based on not getting an abortion.

Christianity has an ugly hold on the people here, even if people aren't Christian, that tradition still remains from that religion.

Maybe if your family is religious. It is the opposite here mostly.
