@asker Also, Islam came in India in the 6th century itself at the time of prophet Muhammad. Look up the oldest mosque in India. Dated all way back. It was centuries later that Islamic rulers invaded India. And even after invading, they prospered it so much that led India to have 25% of the total global wealth. Christians and colonizers looted India off and half of the museums of UK (which has Christianity as its state religion, I might add) is filled up with treasuries and diamonds of India.

@asker, also read about the pre Islamic history of violence against jains and Buddhists by Hindus in India. You'll know how well they have gotten along. As long as there is Islam in India, they have a common punching bag. It's not going anywhere from India and if it were, all of it will be back to caste system and extreme discrimination among Hindus themselves (which can be still observed among them) and practices such as 'sati' (where hindu widows were burnt alive) will be brought back.
