Not to segregate but, this is for employed Americans only. However, if you HAD a job within the past year or two, you can play along, too. Just answer if you were still working there.
You can answer anonymously, if you want. In fact, I almost encourage it.
I just want 2 bits of info. No lengthy extrapolations are needed, just quick succinct answers will suffice.
1. What sort of work do you do?
2. How much do you make an hour?

I'll start: I'm unemployed at the moment but, my last job was as a janitor and I was only getting $7.25 an hour.

I co own an electrical contracting business. We have been working consistently though out everything. My pay isn't hourly or salary. Basically I take home 20 percent of profit per job. Some jobs are small and done in a month or 2. Some jobs are multi year jobs.

I'll bet you have a lot of stiff competition.
My great grandfather used to run a funeral home. This was before they started embalming them. One day, they were taking a dead guy up the hill to the cemetery in a horse-drawn hearse and, on the way there, the stiff sat up in the casket and wanted to know what the hell was going on!! scared the hell out of everybody!
Grandma says that my ex-sister's house used to be a funeral home. (Grandma lived around the corner from there and it was her dad that was the undertaker.) I guess that's why the house is haunted! Some really strange stuff goes on there!! I just remembered another one haunting I'd forgotten about!!

The funeral home (and two others we acquired over the years) have been owned/operated by my dad's side of the family since the late 1800s. During the early years, funeral homes (undertakers) were side businesses. Ours started as a side business to a tack shop, and first became a standalone funeral parlor in 1908. Like every kid who grew up being the undertaker's kid, I got my share of jokes (if I put my arm around someone, he or she would ask if I was measuring for a casket). And like every other kid who grew up the undertaker's kid, I swore I would never be part of the funeral business; but like every other kid who said that, here I am. Embalming is highly overrated and rarely required. Most families skip it these days, unless there's an open casket viewing - then it's not a requirement by law, rather it's funeral home policy. I'll be eagerly awaiting to hear the results of your social experiment, but at first glance I'd say that despite you suggesting people answer anonymously, most people did not lol.

So far, the spectrum here is so wide and varied, it just may not pan out very well.

I work as a manager for my own business. That I means I do everything from cleaning toilets to lugging 50lbs bags of ingredients.

I set myself at $5000/month. No time limit. Wake up anytime I get a call and will stick around if needed. No overtime.

I work in a home for people with (learning) disabilities, (the suggested google translate term is nurse)

and i make about 12-14 € an hour, i get paid more if i work the nightshift/on weekends/on holidays

I am an assembly line worker. I make brake calipers for semi trucks by putting using machines to drill the necessary holes into it to fit where it needs to go.

I get paid $18/hr because those parts are really heavy ranging around 30-40 pounds depending on the brand and I need to be able to lift one with one arm. I also work graveyard shift and I was officially hired by the company after being a temp for them.

I get paid by the course but it ends up being about 60-70 dollars an hour.
