Girls: is the gaze over the shoulder subtle flirting or something else?

I heard when a girl looks over her shoulder at you it means she has some interest.

And for arguments sake lest say your in a very crowded place.

If I make the effort to looked behind me just to see someone then to me it would mean I have some sort of interest in them. Thinking about it I actually only do this with a guy if I find them attractive. If she was tying to catch your eyes or smiling at you, then maybe she was flirting with you. But if she was with a group of friends then it's possible they could have been talking about you and she got caught trying to look at you discretely, in which there could be many reasons why she looked at you (positive or negative).

If it happens twice I'd say subtle flirting. Once is possible but you never know. That one is a toss up.
