+1 yI'd honestly be so happy.
I'd go to all the zoos and SPCA's I could find and let all the prisoners be free.
Then I'd probably go try to find Miley Cyrus's Maserati cus that is like, so exciting in so many ways.
But, long term I'd find a nice safe piece of woods where my car could be happy. Preferably near an abandoned race track. We'd just hang out and do hunting and farming and enjoy not being bothered.
I'd also go joy riding in an ocenliner or a big cargo ship, ideally an auto transporter with a ramp so I can take all my cars and bikes with me.. Probably stockpile resources on it along with a smaller faster boat just in case anything goes wrong.
After ten or 20 years of that if I didn't die in a terrible racing accident, I'd probably try to befriend a wolf pack and just hang out with them. Share our knowledge with eachother.
Also, 6 flags baby. No lines, no fees, and I get to press all the buttons myself. (Maybe with a long stick, maybe just smash em and hang onto the car without the seatbelt)
Probably do a lot of drugs, maybe find a flight simulator so I could learn to fly and see more of the world. Always wanted to drive a submarine...
But for the most part, I'd try not to do too much damage. I'd raid the seed vault and try to regrow as much plant life as I could, but I'd leave it intact incase another species ever developed agraculture (monkey or aliens or?)
Try to set the other creatures up for success now that we were done messing things up for them. There is far too much polution and there are far too many nukes and offshore oil wells for me to really even make a dent by myself, but I might try to get rid of at least some of it.
And, if I got bored, or just couldn't deal with the lonelynes, I'd probably try to rocket myself off into space. Either towards the sun or just towards nothing. The sun would be more exciting and more effective, but the idea of my frozen corpse floating millions of miles away forever until it hits something or gets discovered by someone is pretty tempting.00 Reply

+1 yHmmm, it depends... am I in a town or city with fully stocked grocery stores and bottled water in every store, every mart, canned goods for years... endless hotels, homes of all sizes everywhere that I can just go hole up in... stay in a different house every day... endless book stores and libraries... endless outlets with soap, toothpaste, sheets, jackets, pants, socks, belts... anything I can think of... the entire city belongs to me and I can tap into any resource I want anytime?
If that is the case then I would live in many of these places. I suppose I'd visit the bike shop and get some bikes and spare tires and air pumps and get around by bike. Cars my be usable for a while. I'm sure gasoline would be a very limited resource I could only have access to for a limited time. I'd pick me a nice area with nice, large homes lots of grocery stores and such nearby.
I'd live off of the bottled water and canned goods. I'd do a lot of reading.
I'd work on planting food and trying to grow crops so that I could be able to get a lot of food from that because I don't think canned goods last forever. Maybe a few years. Maybe I'd be near a body of water... lakes/rivers and I'd practice my fishing skills so that after several years I'd eat home grown crops and eat fish. The groceries should get me through the first 3-5 years though.
While I have access to drive-able cars and fuel I'd find every container of bottled water in the entire city... every grocery, every Wall-Mart, Target, convenience store, 7-11, BP, Shell Station, Circle K, Kroger, Meiers... and get every bottle stored up in a few houses next to the one I'm living in. Once I see how many I have I'll know if I can live the rest of my life with that or if I'll need a new source of fresh water at some point.
If I'm not like this but rather in a remote forest with now food or water... who knows. I may die. I'd do my best to learn to hunt and fish and find water.00 Reply
+1 yAssuming it's not because one of my worst fears turns out to be real, (aka immortality) I would rejoice over the fact that humans would no longer be able to destroy Earth and that the planet would be able to heal itself. And wonder if inklings will truly come into being. if so, I wish them the best, and also hope they can avoid going to war with any other future humanoids including themselves, and that they are much wiser than us and take good care of their planet. Better than the humans did at least.
22 Reply- +1 y
@Birdlegs I don't get cold, so I have no fear of freezing because a cloud falls on me. Although I do agree that it would be highly irrational if I did. However, immortality isn't that irrational seeing as the inability for you to die most likely will not extend to those you care about. Plus, eventually you get tired of life. Once you've seen enough, you've seen enough, and you're ready to find the answers. As it relates to me, I just worry that the reason I'm still alive is because I can't die. And I'm tired.
Probably have a big mental breakdown and go through a long period of grief due to losing family and friends, then have another breakdown because of all the trapped indoor animals that will die of starvation.

1.8K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Find weapons and ammo.
Kit myself out.
Find a sweet 4x4 vehicle and load it with fuel cans, runflat tires, food and water and powerful search lights.
Move into the Mayor's home.
Beef up security.
Find all the food and water, stock up the house to be able to stay there for a year if necessary.
Find generators. Loads of fuel.
Settle in for a while until I KNOW that I'm the last guy. Research causes, was it sudden? Did I know this was going to happen?
Start exploring.
If the power hadn't gone out yet I'd explore all the fancy places just to see.
Are there dead bodies all over?
I'm not burying every human on the planet.
I would have emptied the mayor's house of bodies but I'd wait for a month or so until most of the stink was gone.
Then keep exploring.
Find explosives and experiment with taking down a skyscraper, just to see.
Find a boat and play out at sea for a while.
I'd never go out of sight of land.
I'd try my hand at sea fishing.
I've got plenty of things to keep myself busy.00 Reply
Anonymous(36-45)+1 yIf I were to wake up and everyone had vanished there is a very high chance that the power supply grid with go down within 3 days so I would focus on things that require grid power
*1st I would get on my laptop and download 1000s of pdfs and information about topics ranging from advance mechanics and electronics to seasonal food production and navigation. I'll also need maps marked with locations of fuel stations, supply warehouses, alcohol brewing shops farms with nice houses.
Hopefully get the info I need before the internet goes down which will be irreparable.
*I would then go to stock up on fuel, food, brewing kits, solar panels, and seeds and store at home.
* Then I would stop at the hardware store to get a range of timber, tools, cabling and generators
I will need generators to supply power to water bore pumps for drinking water and fuel station pumps as well as basic needs till I'm semi off grid
*Then I would mark locations of nice houses around the country within 3 hours drive from my location, I would spend the next months moving food and supplies from the local stores to these house
* At some point in time I'm going to have to start brewing prue alcohol and tuning a vehicle and generators to run off it as after a year maybe two all the petrol and diesel would have gone off.
* Come spring I would start planting vegetables to a manageable level.
Luckily I live in a warm climate all year round
I do some surfing, fishing, gardening etc when I have time.
Maybe over time I would start collecting treasure and stuff20 Reply
+1 yPerfect time to start doing improv. And role playing. Get all the mattresses I can and join them all together. Make a huge ass fire like as big as a city. Make a huge fireworks show, new years eve scale. Hook up all the emergency speakers and. do some horrible karaoke singing. Get all the mirrors I can and arrange them to reflect light between them. Make one of those huge domino setups or a big house of cards. Jk probably too lazy and just lie in bed until I die. Maybe I'll fill up a jet plane with explosives and try flying it with no prior experience, that way if I crash at least I'll die and not be left alive but wounded.
10 Reply1K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I hope this is a serious question and not for fun, even though this is a hypothetical question because I am always serious and so will my answer.
Scary thought but yes if that was the case then I would try to just live as long as I can with the supplies I have and with whatever supplies I can find from shops and supermarkets I will pile them which will keep my going for a few months.
It is not a problem for me to live alone and manage things but the challenge to manage other things like generating electricity to see TV, use internet and light at night and even getting gas will be tough so cooking would also be an issue for me because I only like to eat cooked food and not sealed and canned food.
I may be able to manage for some time though.10 Reply
+1 yI'd probably raid a grocery store to get enough food to get me started, then I would slowly learn how to grow and preserve my own food, how to wash clothes without electricity, etc. I'd probably wind up living like a medieval peasant. Actually it'd be worse than that since medieval peasants traded for things they didn't make.
I'd definitely try to get some pets. Humans don't do well without company. And I'd raid a library for books since entertainment will be in short supply.
Tbh, I'd probably die of infection because my dumb ass would accidentally step on a Rusty nail or something.
I could try to restart the human race, but I'm guessing frozen embryos would be thawed by the time I got to them. It seems unlikely that I'd be able to get any progress on that front.00 ReplyI’d try to find out how everyone else died, if I didn’t already know, then work on figuring out how to create an antidote to bring anyone I wanted to back to life who had died from whatever killed everyone else but first I’d enjoy the ability to walk around naked without having to worry about offending anyone with my nakedness.
Once I’d perfected the antidote, making sure there aren’t any side effects, I’d revive the earth with whoever I wanted to and find me a woman to make into my wife and have children with.
*Assuming everyone else hadn’t been turned to dust and I somehow managed to miraculously survive that without harm, in which case I’d search the world for a Time Machine and once found, undo whatever killed everyone else.10 Reply- 6.6K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
m +1 ywell, the first thing I would do is to try my best and plan for the next 20 to 30 years...
because I would sure want to witness how nature recovers and takes over the world again, I would not want to miss that... I'd just become a witness and enjoy all of that10 Reply I'd travel and find all the animals and be the best animal mom ever. Also I'd live my life long dream of hanging out with wild animals cuddle with cheetahs play patty cake with orangutans! I'd probably eventually die from trying to pet a lion cub but I'm okay with that.
10 ReplyIt would be tougher than one might think. Soon, there would be no power, no city water, eventually no readily available food. I would travel to somewhere where fresh water and wild game is abundant, preferably near a sporting good store, where I could stock up on ammunition, camping gear, survivalist food, etc. I would find a house or building with solar power too.
Beyond that, I would learn how to farm and tame animals that may help me in survival mode.
Oh... I would learn how to play the guitar and harmonica to entertain myself...00 Reply1.1K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Enjoy the solitude for awhile. Then probably do my best to piece to the worlds scientific plans to fly to mars and colonize it. Even if I'll probably die doing so. But to me its worth a shot. Because odds are that if there is only one person left alive on human alive on earth people where unable or unwilling to face the biggest problem humanity has. Our self-destructive nature. So its best to attempt to give the species a fresh start on another planet and erase the past.
00 ReplyIf there is no hope in finding anyone then probably would have some fun with things what are left on earth, explore what I can, not gonna lie probably do some weird and disgusting things what would come to my head too, and then die when I won't find more food, probably that would be something with high chance to be the way how I die
00 ReplyRejoice that all the leftists were finally gone, I’d go hunting with my laser guided missile rifle, the dreaded Ak-97 that shoots a bajillion rounds a second. I’d go to your house, put my feet up on the couch , drink beer, watch porn, leave the toilet seat up, not wipe my ass. I’d go shit on Nancy pelosi’s grave. I would set New York on fire, it would be good times.

I think traveling the world would be a pipe dream unless you were already trained to fly. The operation of a ship capable to surviving storms and long distances over the ocean/seas requires at least a minimum crew and knowledge of nautical navigation in order to get to an actual destination. The most you could probably hope for was local road travel.
2.5K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I would be confused as to why God allowed only one person to be left alive on Earth, without having sent Jesus back before it got down to only me being left.
Then I would make the assumption that I had actually died, and was living in my own afterlife.00 ReplyFirst, i would not know the difference, i am sure God would have created me to adapt my surroundings, maybe just like living in a small island by myself, no taxes no tags on me like social security, no pollution, fresh healthy life, i could have made my own moonshine, since i would not know any difference i guess there would be no sex , and no worries your woman cheating on me, no stress.

Realistically, boats aren't that hard to drive in 2020.
There are planes that practically take off and land themselves.
And fuel would be pretty easy to come by if you knew where to look.
I'd put a small boat on a big boat just in case I messed up. Parashutes are only so helpful over the ocean. - +1 y
@Lost_in_the_Woods Well, I guess I'm sorted!
- +1 y
Definetly don't use a sailboat.
Find a commercial shipping boat, fill it full of diesel (full) and then see if you can find a handbook that explains how to set the auto pilot to the stored/previous route.
They barely touch the wheel except to park the things these days.
The rule is that someone has to stay near the bridge at all times in case of emergency, but they are allowed to sit on the balcony beside it and read the paper until something goes wrong.
The only thing you really have to look out for is storms. Try to avoid them, but weather. com will probably go down pretty fast when they stop putting coal in the turbines at the power plant. Hope the are on nuclear and you might have a couple months of radar from the satellites. - +1 y
I bet if you find a relatively new one, it will make the trip without breaking down.
And I bet the auto pilot will head straight towards a port with plenty of other ships to choose from.
I bet they are pretty reliable, even if you skip the maintanance. They are designed to last deccades and meet deadlines. But you're right. Engines break down and I don't know how to maintain one of those things. That is why I would take a backup.
A lot of container ships have built in cranes way large enough to lift a decent sized yaght. - +1 y
My thinking is, if the average spoiled rich kid can drive it... I'll probably be able to figure it out.
- +1 y
I don't know anything about autopilot on ships but I would suspect they are only good on the sea. Not sure if it actually can handle docking or we would have more automated ships with the crew on land. The Gps satellite should be fine the first few years after that they might start drifting. Not sure how many manual corrections that the observing crew give these. Rigging up a crane to lift a yacht is no easy task. So it's probably best to find a ship with a spare already in place.
- +1 y
I agree.
Dropping the anchor is the really dangerous part.
But so long as you get close enough to swim you should be fine.
Everything is disposable when you're the only one left. - +1 y
Well you only have a few years of travel before nature and wild animals has taken over everything anyways. After that it's probably best to settle down and become a farmer. Not much to see in the ruins of the old world. Besides the vehicle will become unusable by just sitting there. So you either become a jack of all trades or get stuck somewhere.
I will live like in Cast Away... With lots of animals, and a farm... Until dead.
