Term AND age limits.
I like the idea of adapting the "up or out" policy they tried to force on the military a few years ago... You can hold a house seat for a few years (I'll say 8) but by then you have to either leave federal government or run for and win an election for a higher office, like Senator, President or Vice President. You can't be a senator for more than one full 6-year term. As the VP, you can run for president at the end of your term, or you can retire. Period. If you hit the mandatory retirement age before the start of a term (I'm leaning towards 72 but could be persuaded higher or lower) then you're ineligible for running for any of them. I would still keep the Supreme Court as a lifetime appointment, however.

I'm with you on a term limit to most... If they are that great of a leader and if so, they can be of great service by swapping out with someone else, too. I've always said, however, that a 6-year term is all we need with anyone.
Yes, and I'd go a step further, and say that politicians are ineligible for congress, the senate or the presidency. Politicians can't run anything successfully.
Yes!! Serve ONE term and then go back to your law practice.

It's been long overdue, but won't happen because Congress won't allow it. The only way is for the states to rise up and do so themselves and you know that will never happen.
