Are yoga pants distraction in school?

In total, I went to three different High Schools. Two of them were particularly stringent with uniforms whilst the other wasn't. Granted, at least one person got stabbed and killed a day at that school, but still.
School #1 (Private):
- Long Tartan Dress
- Short Tie
- White Dress Shirt With Frills
- Grey Stockings
- Grey Cardigan
- Grey Blazer
- Neatly Polished Black School Shoes
- Thick Grey Felt Bowler Hat
If you didn’t have your hair neatly up, you got in trouble. If you were missing anything out of your uniform, you got into massive sh*t like a phone call home and a detention.
School #2 (Public):
- Tartan Skirt
- White School Shirt With School Emblem
- Black Stockings
- Black Dress Shoes
- Navy Blue Jumper
If everything wasn’t perfect, if you had the wrong f***ing hair clip or hair tie, you were given a detention and sent up the front of the whole assembly i.e. in front of 1700 people.
School #3 (Public):
- Anything.
There was a set uniform and dress code in place, but the teachers were too focused on surviving the day rather than concentrate on uniforms, tell off the wrong person and then be killed.
And you’re complaining about not being able to wear sweat pants to school? Seriously, get over it. Some people don’t even have the luxury of having clothes.
What a bunch of ridiculous fascists huh?
I graduated this year and my school banned leggings, jeggings and yoga pants my last year there. I think it was because girls would wear them two sizes too small and be slutty about it. I also couldn't wear sweatpant to school. I always wore jeggings and other skinny pants, I'm super thin so they looked like normal skinny jeans on me and I never got detention for them :) but they should not be banned because they are pants and comfy. I am trying to dress nicer for my everyday style but there are just some days you need to wear yoga pants, like if you're really crampy. I totally agree with anonymous dude, girls will always be a distraction. Schools like to go on power trips to "keep us in line" or some sh*t like that. My school banned the I <3 boobies bracelets too. I mean really. It says the word "boob"! I learned a new word today and now I'm going to be a delinquent! *sarcasm to the max* but I went to a catholic school. You just have to suffer through it until you get to college and they're happy that you're just wearing clothes at all
yoga pants look too casual, they probably don't want kids going to school looking like they're dressed in their pajamas or something like that. just suck it up and deal with it. I was in a catholic girls school and had to wear uniforms 24/7 for 10 years. a white short-sleeved blouse underneath and a blue pinafore over with a belt. 2 layers in this tropical heat = CRAZY.
Tight-fitting yoga pants leave little to the imagination. Women's bodies only tempt men to sin and must therefore be rendered innocuous by either gross physical distortions (eg. getting fat) or ample textile coverage (preferred). If you don't like the rules then don't go to school. Would you really miss it?
oh paalease what next! Society is teaching more and more that everyone should be ashamed of their bodies
Wear them girls and be proud

I have to be in a uniform and it's a public school. I'm not allowed to wear jeans, sweatshirts or anything with a hood on it, yoga pants, pants with more than 5 pockets, tank tops, etc. I wear a polo and khakis everyday to school with sneakers. It's the school's decision, you just got to live with it.
OMG I would want to leave your school asap... Just go to school naked because you basically can't wear any clothes. My school which is public doesn't even have a dress code(which in some cases we need it). But ya there getting over board yoga pants are harmless and there comfy as hell too. But ya no yoga pants shouldn't be banded there freaking pants...
I can understand where your school is coming from. People are getting lazier and sloppier by the day and generally it starts with the schooling system, since it is similar to the career environment. Schools need to enforce rules similar to rules in the workplace so kids and teens grow up knowing there are restrictions, instead of going from a "free for all/do as you please" environment to an environment that requires one to dress in a professional, as well as orderly manner.
Depends what you call a distraction. Did it make just about every guy check out any girl who was wearing them's ass? Yes. Was looking at someones butt so incredibly captivating that it would detract from classes? Not quite.
I can understand why they banned them. Yes, they can be a distraction especially with guys! Though I also feel like how much more clothing are they going to ban? Soon they will ban tight jeans, tight t-shirts, etc.
thats absolute crap! Lets be honest, guys love to see them on girls and most girls like them because it makes their ass look good ;) the school system is terrible these days!
thats fine now at my school which is public we have to wear uniforms now which sucks, kahki and maroon and blakc and grey yet the school colors are maroon and white but we can't wear white? makes no sense. f*** it I'm wearing yoga pants no matter what.
Psh that's crap in my opinion, I love my yoga pants!
I don't know, but if they ban leggings, I can see why they'd ban yoga pants, which are equivalent to leggings in all the areas that count.
Yes but only because I do not believe they should be worn anywhere other than the gym.
Crappy rules!
Here in Norway you can wear whatever you like to schools! (Of course not a bikini or naked, hehe)
I don't know why that is banned from a public school, private would make more sense. I don't think yoga pants are distracting at all, but whatever.
If you are a guy and you say you have never gone completely brain dead seeing the tightest, most delicious ass walk past in tight, black yoga pants your gay. Yes, they are distracting. Should they be banned? Not unless you wanna take all the fun out of school!
no yoga pants? what? ha ha my school like has no dress code.. which is kinda bad sometimes.
Girls, in general, are a distraction in school.
that's the whole point
bait n' switch
maby OK to ban, they can be very distracting in school! hard to pay attention for some.
That's a bummer! Few things in this world nicer that a hot girl with a great ass in yoga pants.
How could anyone possibly disagree with that?
Yep, school's gone crazy!
That's ridiculous.
really? but they're so comfortable and convenient
