+1 yDoes meth make your teeth fall out?
Yeah, if you do it every day.
But not mine.
I don't use social media.
It's designed by the companies that run it to "influence" or in other words control the people who use it to do three things.
Buy things they want you to buy. Think things they want you to think. And keep doing it every day.
But what is a perfect life? You think girls who are famous on Instagram are happy? My ex was the most miserable person I've ever known and she had many thousands of followers.
Perfect isn't what they tell you to do or how they tell you to be. Perfect is what makes you happy. On your terms.
Social media doesn't pressures you to do the exact opposite. It's like smoking meth because you want to be happy.03 Reply- +1 y
*social media doesn't pressure you to do that. It pressures you to do the exact opposite.
- +1 y
I don't know what that is.
I'm not saying it's wrong to want to be famous. Just that social media sites are designed to make everyone try to "gain followers" by buying and doing and saying what is popular.
Following the trends doesn't make anyone happy with their life.
The perfect life for you is what makes you happy. It might fit the trends, it might not.
I'm not saying to avoid anything popular. Just saying not to let someone else tell you how to live.
But by all means, live your dream one way or the other.

+1 yNo thankfully. I grew up without all of this technology. It has made life easier , but I have a sense it has stolen something as well. Since the advent of technology opening up all this information to people and it’s evolving as it goes affecting human sexuality and I believe eventually human evolution. It’s all smoke and mirrors though for we are evolved beings that evolved over eons of time to behave as we used too creating a balance between masculinity and femininity. It has made for more instant self gratification then at any other time in our known history. This has in turn created a very narcissistic and self serving modern culture. Hence all the unhappy people we see every day.

+1 yNo because I don't share my life on social media.
My life is my private life.
My social media includes things I'm interested in, my creative projects and occasionally my frustrations at our government when I've probably held it in for too long. (always a mistake)
But always showing videos of love, kindness and fun. Where I can.01 Reply- +1 y

+1 yYeah, I think some people feel pressured to have a perfect life or typical life because of social media. That's one of the reasons I don't spend much time on facebook. I use it mainly to keep in contact with family and friends but I rarely post anything, and I don't use instagram.

+1 yWhen you’re going through hard times or had a shit day looking through social media can make you feel like everyone has it better than you. All it is is people posting the stuff they want people to see. The good stuff. Nobody’s posting their failures. And you don’t know what goes on behind closed doors. Some of these peoples failures and what goes on behind closed doors could be far worse than anything you could be going through in life. That’s why focusing on real life and not social media is most important. You open up social media all you’re gonna see is good stuff. How people are in real life is where you need to base things off of.

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yNope social media has actually made me realise just how fake and pathetic people are to the point they fake they are on a private plane when in reality they paid money to sit in a room in Los Angeles that looks like the inside of a private plane it’s also made me realise just how insecure people are having to photoshop their photos and use FaceTune to alter what they look like it’s quite pathetic and sad at the same time

+1 yIt pressures you to post things like your life is perfect, to make it appear so, even when its not.
When I see posts, pics and crap about someone having a great time and doing all that stuff, I know often it is pretty fake. Sure there is a little truth to it all, but its exaggerated.10 Reply
+1 yNot me personally.. lol i could give a flying fuck what someone thinks about me on social media.. but also, I never put myself in the position to be judged harshly.. I feel like a majority of people have gotten too comfortable on social media and they’re becoming more open & honest with certain things and it gets them in trouble later.
10 Reply- 325 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
+1 yNope.
If you're honest with yourself, unfollow the accounts that aren't good for you and most importantly know that social media isn't the real thing, well then you're good to go. And if all that doesn't help, then get off of social media , it's that simple10 Reply
Anonymous(30-35)+1 yThere is no such thing as the perfect life. Even on GAG people (girls, men, whomever) assume if they have 100,000 pts on GAG everything they say is right and then they become ignorant and belittle new GAG users and GAG doesn't do anything about it. We live in a make believe world where if you are behind a screen and the amount of points you have or likes you have makes the assumption that someone is always right or extremely beautiful and has the perfect life or says all the right things lol. People may wonder why do I use GAG if I am ripping on this site. It's only to kill time. If GAG went bankrupt or IG or Twitter, life goes on, I won't care.
00 ReplyYes a bit, Im really active on LinkedIn and i love seeing people accomplish goals and get further in their career. However, it stresses me out and always makes me feel like I haven’t done enough and I don’t make enough.
I constantly see guys who are ripped and that does also take a toll on how I view my body.
Personally I think it’s actually a positive thing overall, it pushes me to put more effort into being a healthier and better educated person.00 ReplyNope for me not coz nobody have perfect life that's all myth, false. Yes people do pretend to have one but deep inside we all know that we all are Humans so naturally we all would have problems and it's not gonna end till we alive and even after death.

+1 yCouldn't care less. I give 0 fucks about what anyone think of me.
People nowadays are too judgmental.
People nowadays are too selfish and only selfish.
People nowadays care more about what other people do than to take care of themselves.
People nowadays are too divisive when we need to unite more than ever before.
Why is it like that?
What can we do as a whole to change all the negativity into something positive?00 Reply

A perfect life? no. Because that is not possible. As human beings we all make mistakes, sometimes we act selfishly etc, this is the price to pay for being human.
And then I don't know exactly what you mean by "perfect life"20 Reply
+1 yNo it doesn't. But...
No one posts their failures.
So a scroll through social media would have you believe that everyone is constantly carefree and winning 24/7. That is not the case.00 Reply

+1 yLol, no. If you let social media give your life worth. You are not truly enjoying life for yourself and need to look at your priorities.
Are you enjoying what you enjoy, or are you trying to get attention from people who don't know you exist?00 Reply Doesn't everyone just naturally want a more perfect life? I wasn't aware that this was some form of "pressure."
03 Reply- +1 y
The pressure is wanting more then that guy rather then what you currently have.
- +1 y
@VanillaSalt Sure, but it's not "that guy" who's creating that pressure. It's the envy of the guy who wants more.
- +1 y
Yes but you gotta argue that social media promotes the best of what life can be and most people will never measure up to that. It’s like women that see men posting pictures online of their Cancun vacations every year… most people don’t and can’t afford that yet you’ll find a large portion of women wanting men like this.
It also promotes both healthy and unhealthy lifestyles by showing you specific content the whole time your plugged in.
Nobody that understands how algorithms work can claim social media doesn’t brainwash people into believing things they normally wouldn’t.

00 Reply 375 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. If social media would do that it would actually be a good thing but what social media is doing is make people pretend that they have a perfect life
