Very interesting... after the fall of the Soviet Union, Russian President Vladimir Putin moonlighted as a taxi driver, which he now doesn't want to talk about.
What do you think of that?
Could be. 90's were a total clusterfuck that folks, especially in the West, can hardly imagine. Heck, nuclear scientists were selling homemade socks in metro just to get something to eat.
By the way, speaking of him working in taxi, a joke appeared when Oliver Stone was visiting to film a movie and Vladimir Vladimirovich actually drove the car with Mr Stone being in a passenger's seat (and translator in the back) while they were discussing Edward Snowden. The joke goes:
A bunch of shady businessmen are driving a car and suddenly bump into a car in front of them. The biggest of them steps out, comes to a car they bumped into, checks passengers, suddenly takes out his wallet, gives all the money he has, then rushes back to his car and tells his buddies:
- Let's get the fuck out of here, fast!
- Why? What happened? Who is in that car?
- I dunno who that guy is, but Putin himself is working as his personal driver.
And now he is the richest man in the world.
Some estimates have his wealth around 200 billion.

Lot of KGB agents started as taxi drivers or receptionists in hotels which had more microphones in walls than concrete. However not everyone of them became KGF/FSB chief. I guess connections of Putin's father who was chef of Stalin helped Vladimir a lot in his KGB career. Stalin suffered in last years of his life severe paranoia and person who cooked for him enjoyed lot of trust.
It was a better option then the alternative I guess.

Everyone starts somewhere. He is a very strong leader, I respect him.
How braindead do you have to be to believe Russian propaganda? Putin is a well known liar and psychopath. I don't believe he's ever been in a taxi at all.
That sounds like kgb propaganda, which he was apart.
Interesting. He's a scary man.
Why?
Yes, and Jesus was a carpenter. Whats your point?
That’s great
Normal.
