I got linguistic ambiguity problems here. Most of my friends would describe me as the epitome of a person who doesn't care about what other people think. But of course, I care. And my happiness is definitely tied to my wife's well-being. She suffers, I suffer. and my family although to a lesser extent as well as my friends. I'm not a psychopath, so to speak.

That said, I have no problem with trivial things that people are afraid of doing like stripping naked in front of thousands of people or singing the national anthem to a stadium full of ten thousand people even though I can't sing very well. So most people conclude that I don't care what other people think incorrectly. I care very much. I just don't care about the thoughts of people who don't really impact my life. I care very deeply about the ones that do.

I think the problem in my case that confuses people is fear vs. empathy. I have almost no fear of anything to myself -- not embarrassment, not getting my arm cut off, not death. So I have always been open to doing things and doing things, that people consider only capable of being done by people who don't care what other people think. But I do care. If my friends could read my mind, they might be shocked how much I care about them and everyone and everything. What they will be equally shocked by is how little I fear anything except them getting hurt. They'll find a void if they look for fears that involve me being harmed.

Why rely on others when people only want to condemn and be rude, when they never walked a mile in your shoes. Trust me I have chub on me and people assume I eat a lot, not true I had several surgeries and health issues that causes weight gain, I actually lost 30 LBs since my profile pic. With lots of exercise, lots of water, and salad

I wouldn’t say that I depend on people for my happiness, but I’m definitely a happier person when I spend times with people a few times a week, than if I’m alone. But I’m okay to be alone and I find it easy to entertain myself with small projects, cooking, work and music.

long term: yes. nobody can survive all alone and lonely, being as happy as someone who is not lonely. company and community is essential for human happiness. this is not an opinion. it's a fact. because measures of human interaction correlate positively with subjective quality of life measures.

Sadly yes. I would like to be a person that could create their own happiness and be completely satisfied and content with being alone. But no my happiness comes from/depends on the people I’m around and how they make me feel.

Yes i do and it is not healthy at all, i always wanted a woman to be with to deal with and i guess i felt that it would fill a void in me but even with one i felt empty inside so yes i have tried to fill my void with other persons but it is the way to go about it at all.

If I did that I'd never be happy. Happy is a state of mind. You may not always be able to change your circumstances but you can always change your attitude towards those circumstances.

I'm not really sure, I think it's because of the "rigidity" of the mind, when you are more intutive or emotion based and are only using thinking as a way to suppliment somewhat it'd mean emotional shifts or maybe hormonal changes could cause huge shift in behaviours and how you feel. I've noticed the more I've understood myself.. and how things work the more I'm able to deal with what I feel (and sometimes what I think)
