Many liberals want very high taxes because they believe people who make a lot were given it just from being born in the right family. So why don't we give them that if you were born to parents to make a top 5% income you pay a different tax rate when you're adult than if you were born to parents in poverty. This will fix liberals problem with their idea that people were just born into money and allowed the people who actually work and built something not be hit down over and over by governments high taxes. I have no idea how much you make and I honestly don't care, but let's assume you make less than 100k. Well, during the Republicans time in office they tried to do lower taxes, but instead they couldn't get the money to work, so what they did was kept all the tax reductions on big businesses then gave the rest of us a sort of "break" for the interim which oh by the way expires in 2025 and can actually have us paying potentially more than we were.

How is that helping us?

I think in people paying their fair share. I make just shy of $30 an hour here. If I'm paying, let's call it 20% then a billionaire can pay that much too even if it is a higher overall amount of dollars. That should also be 20% for the person making $10 an hour.

Right now that isn't happening. The ultra rich have enough loopholes to lower their taxes to almost nothing in comparison to us. We should want to collect from everyone as that money goes to everyone in the US whether it be for education, bettering our communities, our safety and health, and many other things like disaster aid.

So yes, conservatives vote against their best interests by voting in guys who only enrich themselves and their friends by giving themselves massive tax cuts for them and not you and I.

Healthcare is horrible because of the lack of real transparency in insurance companies. In the end all that's happening is companies negotiating deals and setting prices on what the cost of medical care should be. From there they make very real decisions with our lives based on their financial bottom line not our best interests. It would actually be worse without any regulation.

If I make 10k a year and still live with my parents I'd pay about 10% which is 1k.

If I'm making a million a year then it should be 37%. So in that case yes it would very clearly be more and that holds true even if the richer person takes it down to 10% of their own income through tax deductions. You have a larger sum of money.

The problem is, the guy who makes 10k doesn't have half the tax breaks available to him that the 1m guy does so he can't get his overall percentage down in the same way. 10% of his income is extremely substantial while 10% of the guy who makes a million still leaves him PLENTY of money to live off of. If he paid the current rate of 37% then he would feel that hit way more and still have more than enough to live on.

He shouldn't be penalized for being successful but he sure as heck shouldn't be getting even more benefits added on for it that aren't afforded to the rest of us.

The law retained the old structure of seven individual income tax brackets but in most cases, it lowered the rates. The top rate fell from 39.6% to 37%, while the 33% bracket dropped to 32%, the 28% bracket to 24%, the 25% bracket to 22%, and the 15% bracket to 12%. The lowest bracket remained at 10%, and the 35% bracket was also unchanged. The income bands that the new rates applied to are lower, compared to 2018 brackets under current law, for the five highest brackets.

This will expire in 2025.

For business on the other hand they were cut to 21% and their cuts were made permanent.

These changes are also expected to raise the federal deficit. A substantial amount (which is why Trump has one of the highest percentages in all of history of how much he added to the national deficit in his 4 years.

In addition to the temporary reduction to taxes, he also removed the ability to file deductions for some more commonly used exemptions like moving costs, union dues, home office (which was really awful considering the pandemic on the horizon) and alimony.

Beyond all that, his plan also removed the individual mandate from ACA which was anticipated to take insurance from 13 million Americans over the next decade.

Again, the way to renounce your citizenship is clearly written into law which you have implicitly agreed on as part of your citizenship (and yes your parents has the right to make this choice for you before you are an adult just the same as they have the right to do other legal decisions in your name).

This includes any taxes and other limitations associated with ending the contract. This is normal. You can go ask a lawyer about if there can be penalties or fees associated with ending a contract although I do think you will be wasting your time confirming what I already told you.

Also the country is part of the "property" of the country. That means that you are not allowed to be within or work there without permission and that usually is given in return for paying taxes and fees which are higher than normal citizens. If you dont like it just leave the country.
