Is it bad for a good person to be evil to an evil one?

A good person that only shows cruelty to the one who is evil when they’re pushed too far. Is this wrong?

I think about this from time to time, sometimes I feel like bullies deserve to be bullied, for example. And while I'm not entirely opposed to it, sometimes I wonder if the bully is bullying because they are struggling or suffering in some other way and they unfortunately chose to vent in a bad way. So maybe bullying them isn't the right way to go about it.

This might be an unnecessary comment because quite frankly I don't know what the right answer is. It's just food for thought, I guess.

I don’t think so. It’s why I liked Trump so much. He was able to play dirty with Democrats, but able to also pull back and govern responsibly.

I love watching him in 2016 😂 I think the reason he lost is he became too soft, which is fair. All that heckling about how you’re a monster would effect any moral person.

Is it morally wrong for a person to defend themselves? No. But the way the legal system works is that if you break a law the cops and courts are way more likely to punish you than the evil doer you reacted to. Also from a spiritual point of view, vengeance is wrong, if that's your goal... but if your true goal is helping others (because you know this person is a threat to others) that's not a bad thing.

It isn't really evil then. If an evil person harmed someone you cared about so you harmed that evil person in return, that wouldn't make that an evil act.
