I work in fast food. And I remember during B. L. M. that people were blocking streets or distracting drivers on the road. Which could have mad me late to work. But when they are done protesting, they come to me to feed them like nothing ever happened.
I am in no way saying they shouldn't speak their mind, or that what they were protesting for was not important.
I'm just saying how they go about it affects people other people, but they expect to get their food from me anyway.
Hello fellow kiwi, Yeah I just dont get it at all, their given every chance to protect themselves against this virus and yet their kicking up such a fuss.
FFS, go home, get your jabs and shut the F up, cos right now your terrorists invading government land, you should be arrested or at best beaten or shot.
Try that on the White House lawn, you'll be gunned down.
I'm expecting a lot of cases within the group honestly.
Same
Oh well karma is a bitch, or just ironic
ITS LIKE RAAAAIN ON YOUR WEDDING DAY
Like a free ride, when you've already paid
Don’t you remember the capital? It was done on American soil and 1 person was shot not to downplay her death but it’s not like mass people were sent home in body bags the cops basically ran
@humpbackjack what's the relevancy here?

Show me 1 piece of proof of these protests attacking anyone. In fact it’s been the counter protesters getting violent here.
And that’s exactly the point of the protests, for EVERYONE to conduct their lives as normal and go to work without interference
Nothing about the past 2 years has been normal
A 17 year old girl was yelled at for walking into a supermarket with a mask on by protesters and then they threw eggs at her.
Cars are parked illegally blocking access to commuters and emergency services.
Everyone can work pretty much as normal. They just don't want to. They don't care to take the necessary steps to do that.
I can’t speak for the protests in New Zealand. As for Canada, the only documented trouble was from counter protesters. 4 people run over in Winnipeg. 5 arrested in Vancouver - throwing eggs and rocks at the convoy, laying on the road to block traffic and (unsuccessfully) trying to fight protesters
And minus the border blockades (which emergency vehicles do not cross anyway) access lanes have always been left open by the convoys.
This is about the mental health toll. Businesses destroyed by pointless lockdowns. Jobs lost, careers ruined by people with or without the shots upholding the law as written in The Charter Of Rights And Freedoms
Coercion is not consent. “Comply or else” is not consent. People do a lot of things they don’t want to do when they have bills to pay and families to support. I had 2 coworkers die last year going out in conditions we all knew was borderline suicidal but the boss threatened their jobs. He’s currently under criminal investigation for it
Leaders with a shred of good sense and decency are loosening restrictions. Medical professionals around the world have been saying for a while now that covid is not going anywhere anytime soon and it’s time to live with it. That’s what we’re standing for
We are living with it. That's why the protests are stupid. It's business as usual. They're just mad they can't eat at restaurants or go to the movies because those are vaccinated businesses.
Damn right we’re mad. Again I can’t speak for New Zealand, but here they are still going with the lockdowns and restrictions, with or without the shots. And none of that matters whatsoever as these mandates are a blatant violation of the documents of which all of our laws are based off
It’s been 2 years, we know the drill, time to move on
It's like rainnnnn, on your wedding day. Like a free raiiiiihaaaide, that you've already paid.
Sorry! And yes, I think it's quite ridiculous.
That Alanis Morissette reference might be too obscure for most people on here. I'm old.
I think it's especially bad when people block off the roads.
This might be one of my highly controversial opinions but I am not sure this type of activism and protest is so effective anymore if it ever was. If someone wants to persuade me towards joining a cause, then shouting at me and waving signs in my face and causing traffic jams for me is hardly persuasive. It has almost the opposite effect.
It's just an annoyance and they look stupid. 😂
great! now I've got Alanis's voice stuck in my head
@whosnumber1 Isn't it ironic? Don't you think? And who would have thought, it figaaarrrrrrssss! A traffic jam, when you're already late!
gaaaaaaa!!!
@whosnumber1 Funny thing is that none of those things she cites are ironic. They're just annoying! She writes a whole song about irony and nothing she talks about is ironic! Isn't it ironic, don't you think?
IT'S LIKE RAIYAAAEEAHHN!!!
haha. she did a popup free show in Vancouver. despite her annoying voice she was actually pretty good live. ironic
@whosnumber1 I always thought she was very attractive. I don't really care much for her style of music although it tends to become an earworm very quickly.
yeah, put her and Nickleback on tour together... that'll warm your ears up
@whosnumber1 Nostalgia tour! I wonder how many people would attend their events who aren't in our age range.
crickets from the younger generation. and you'd have to pay me to go too. either that or lots of free beer
@whosnumber1 I'll go anywhere with free beer. Justin Bieber concert. I figure if I drink enough that I might be okay with the sounds coming into my ears.
at least Bieber would have lots of chicks in the crowd to look at
@whosnumber1 Excellent point! I probably should have gone to more of those when I was young and single.
Depends. If the reasons for the protests are legitimate and grounded in reality and actual facts, then I'm all for it.
But that's not the case with most of these protests. It's their democratic right to protest, but they're just full of shit, plain and simple.
not at all ironic... if you can't find your way to work because of a "protest" that is happening, maybe you need to work from home... if you are "inconvienced" by someone expressing thier "Rights" that is the price you pay for living in a Free Country... move
Throwing eggs at school aged kids for wearing a mask is not protesting. Blocking multiple streets (with parked cars) is not protesting, pulling officers into the protest crowd is not protesting, putting your own children on the front line is fucked up, trespassing is not protesting, throwing abuse at people trying to get into their business is not protesting. Making people feel unsafe IS NOT PROTESTING.
I have no problem with the protesting. It's the rest of it. Government isn't going to do anything for people who are disrespecting government grounds and locals.
No, it's not ironic. Typically, a protest doesn't take away anyone's rights, though it may make it more difficult for them. That's the purpose of a protest. This protest is doing exactly that.
I think people have the right to go to work? Hundreds of people were unable to get to work/ had to close due to the harassment and violence.
More nwo crap by the Vatican. Jesus at this rate will be coming soon, we are at the very end of the 6TH SEAL after all.
Why would they camp for 2 + weeks in their own filth if it wasn't real?
You are one arrogant and spoiled brat, aren't you. Protest is supposed to make your daily life more difficult in order to make you and your government aware of a injustice. Complying leads to authoritarian government overreach.
They were protesting at parliament which is fine. Didn't mean they had to abuse and harass people in surrounding businesses.
The freedom convoy has been the most accomodating protest i have ever seen. Unlike 2020 when BLM terrorized whole cities. BLM=Burn, Loot, and Murder... I wonder how you felt about those riots. I live in L. A. by the way.
Just because the convoy is similar to others doesn't mean the one here is following the same suit. Half the people at the protest were protesting different things.
They are all there to end the mandates. Any hanger on's and copy cats are just trying to get some free press. Fact is that everyone knows what this is really about. Ending the government overreach and increasing authoritarianism. Look around, these "democratic" countries are using the same methods and excuses that Nazi Germany, and the old Soviet Union used to quell dissent. Communist China is not a global model i care to live under. These mandates needed to end in 2020.
Nah I'm good with the mandates. Y'all acting like it's a new thing
I was never good with them, and never will be. Since your fine with the government controlling your freedom of movement and forcing un-proven poisons into your body. How would you feel about the government forcing you to keep your baby if you wanted a abortion? Then locked you up so you couldn't get one.. All in the name of boosting the population for national security. Would you then be fine with that?
They're not controlling mine. They're controlling yours. I'm vaccinated I can go wherever I want. You can't 🙃
Yes i can. I live in a part of L. A. County that is ignoring these illegal mandates. Have been for over a year. In other states its as if there was never a virus outbreak. Your weak kneed fealty is why you live like a soviet citizen who must have the correct papers to travel. Compliance only brings in more government overreach. Non-compliance bring freedom and liberty. You would make a good citizen in Nazi Germany.
Why are you so mad then? You've got what you want where you are. Just don't leave x ☺️
I know plenty of side roads. I WILL get to work.
I even used a farming field once, when some miners thought it's time for a road block.
I can't see irony, but just inconvenience.
Yes, imagine protesting for your right to get sick and possibly die.
I’ve had it, as has pretty much everyone I know. It’s a cold
@Redstang88 You don't see a cold putting person's in the ICU, right now we have 400 in ICU with COVID and an average of 35 deaths (mostly unvaccinated person's) per day from COVID. I don't disagree with you thou as I know several healthy person's that had their vaccinations get the Omicron varient of COVID and as promised the vaccination kept the symptoms to not much worse then a bad cold.
@Redstang88 calling it a cold is just invalidating the experience of millions of people and incredibly disrespectful to the hundreds of thousands of people who have lost their lives to it. Don't be stupid. It's not just a cold, it's covid, it has far greater potential to kill or permanently harm you. We all know this. Your experience is not the rule.
Hundreds of thousands die from colds and seasonal flus, it’s just never been advertised.
I’ve spent the bulk of my life around jobs and hobbies that will kill me if I’m not looking out for myself. I’m a firm believer in self reliance, so sorry that covid simply doesn’t scare me
@Redstang88 no. Estimated that 250-600k deaths *related to* influenza every year, even at its highest estimate it's still more than 3x less than the amount of people that have died from covid.
Also "Hundreds of thousands die from colds and seasonal flus" colds too? But I thought covid was just a cold? But colds kill people now? Interesting.
I never said people aren’t dying from covid, though as you say a very large potion are “covid related” and not necessarily the sole cause. But those people are also at a significant risk from viruses that are all around us all the time
@Redstang88 Although we didn't have these hospilizations nor deaths prior to March of 2020.
@Redstang88 yes. And covid is affecting these people MORE than what the flu would. If you cared as much about the people those numbers represent then you would get vaccinated for both covid and the flu so you can help protect others from dying.
What makes you think I haven’t? This is about standing up for our rights and taking what most of you have so enthusiastically given up for 2 years.
@Redstang88 because people who are against mandates and vaccines go hand in hand. A person who is for vaccines doesn't really have any reason to be against mandates, it's not negativity affecting them.
I’m against people being forced against their will. I’m against still being stuck in lockdown 2 years later despite doing everything that’s been asked of us.
@Redstang88 I mean nobody is actually being forced. Ultimately it is a choice.
But I agree lockdowns suck
Fuck off with that line. “It’s a choice, you just can’t work, go to school, eat out, travel, or do basically anything” That’s not a choice
No shit. We’ve done what was asked for 2 years, time for this to end
@Redstang88 yes it is. You choose not to get vaccinated so because you that you reap the consequences. Every choice has a consequence. There's plenty of jobs that don't require vaccinations. Plenty of places you can travel that don't require vaccinations etc etc.
Yeah well these convoys are the consequences of your choices 😁
@Redstang88 no the convoys are just stupid people. You should see the amount of misspelled signs, wrong flags... I mean a protester pulled a cop into the crowd and then wondered why he got arrested 🧐
It must be exhausting trying so hard to be oppressed all the time
What’s exhausting is being subjected to these absurd (and illegal) mandates and lockdowns because people are scared of their own shadow.
@Redstang88 except they're not illegal 🤧
With a 99.99% survivability ratio it's no deadlier than the regular flu. It's just more contagious. I'm NOT GIVING UP MY RIGHTS over a fucking cold. Everybody on earth has had this virus already and its never going away. We basically just have to live with this man made biological agent. Thank God its not the black death we feared it might be.
Cowards like you are the problem. Ibet you've never even read the constitution of the country you live in.
@Redstang88 agreed.
How about all the false covid deaths that have been reported... None of you cowards ever want to talk about that fact. The hospitals get more money if it's a Covid death. I personally know two RN'S who had a patients die from heart disease and one from a motorcycle accident. Since both had covid anti-bodies in their system they were reported as covid deaths.
Open your fucking eyes to the other side of the story.
No it's not ironic. You don't like the protesters because they don't hold your views. If the protest was for your cause , you'll back it 100% even if it disrupted other people.
See the thing is when a protest is for a good cause. Here at least, they tell the council and if the council agrees to let it happen, they close the street and warn the community to take a different route. ☺️ Because that is what good protesters do. They don't, trespass on government property, they don't block streets without permission, and they don't harass passer-bys or businesses 🙃
"... protest is for a good cause..." excatly my point. You're just confirming your bais 🙃. If you support the freedom of protest, you have to support it even for issues you don't agree with ☺ Disruption is part of a protest, that's why it's called a protest. You even stated they closed the street ( when given permission) . So closing streets don't cause inconvenience? Lol
They're protesting against mandates aka vaccines. 95% of the country is vaccinated they're the ones who don't care about other people so yeah. Not worth it. All they're doing is showing they're assholes 🤷🏻♀️
The council close the street. And people are given WEEKS notice. With signage and everything.
Your lack of Self awareness is amazing 😂
This isn't about self awareness I'm telling you literal facts.
@Razp_Sorbet I'll say amen to that!
Too much "mostly peaceful", not enough "sometimes fiery".
This whole fucking thing has turned into a vaccine war. People should have the right to make the decision for themselves. If someone wants to take it, good for them. But both sides should respect each other and leave eachother the fuck alone
Yeah, the 2020 riots that burned down cities really screwed those shop owners and employee's lives up. Some even got killed because of the riots.
The sad part is a lot of the business in which suffered were black owned. Or here
www.westernjournal.com/.../
Did this young childs death get national attention to find her killers. Where was BLM here? They couldnt offer up a little bit of that money pouring in from exploiting Floyd, so to increase the mere 20k reward that had been set. Thats right because it was BLM protesters that shot up her mothers car for going to around their barricade that impeded her right to travel.
Why no outcry to stop senseless killings like that. Were was Biden and his stop the gun violence epidemic they so righteously believe in. Because they can't use it to insight hate between races and other government bodies...
Why worry about a little bit of damage resulting from a mostly peaceful protest, when children still die from lack of nutrition and have disease infested water to drink?
Funny how the cops are wearing masks. I guess when health insurance is on the line science is ok.
The cops are doing their job. Of course they're wearing masks. Also what health insurance? This is New Zealand.
The united states is the only developed nation without universal healthcare.
No it makes you very very far behind
Overall sure but you rank 38th in math and 24th in science.
You're proud of being robbed of your money 💀😬
Nobody's bitching about boosters
Maybe their ideas are all over the place
It’s s plan for cashless NWO total control NWO
This guy fucking gets it, we gotta resist. Stand for what you believe or kneel for what your told to believe... Right! Peasants were made to kneel to the hierarchy. But MF led to thinking they are protesting something when kneeling for the National Anthem... Wait are, its freedom they protest...
Neither of you make any sense. This reads like gibberish
@Razo_sorbet the same way you don’t know what a salad is. Strong mind can’t survive in a weak body. Go back to your Tiktok, kid!
No no no, not North Korean gov, Global Roman Catholic/Vatican government. How many usa state capitols, the US capital and other countries capitols all look like the capitol of Rome? MANY! It's no coincidence and that you constantly see all world leaders supposedly good and evil all bowing to the pope like he's their leader.
Can you be more specific?
Hypocrisy takes many forms
