And where in Scotland🏴 do your Canadian neighbours come from? They're all Scottish are they not? All Canadians are Scottish, yes?
North America is like New Britain, as Old Britain is overrun by Muslims and Polish.

Trending & News Actually, all Americans are NOT of "English" descent. Though, I am, myself, an Anglophile to my chromosomes. Heck, I know all three verses to "God Save the Queen." Even my British friends don't know all three verses to "God Save the Queen."
Also, I have been to the UK 6 times, visited Parliament, including sitting in the "Stranger's Gallery" during PMQ's. I have also been to Buckingham Palace twice - including taking a tour, and have been inside Downing Street once. Also, I have been to London, Edinburgh, Carnarvon, Portsmouth, Oxford, and Winston Churchill's home, Chartwell.
Thus are my British/English credentials.
That said, I am of Italian, German, French, Spanish and Polish descent. My relatives - on one side - coming to the United States straight from Italy in the 1890s. The other side coming through Canada - both Ontario and Quebec - in the 1920s.
So other than the "Canadian" connection, I just must envy those of my friends who are of British (including specifically English) descent.
All Americans are NOT of English descent. I'm American and my ancestors came from Germany. The United States is often called "The Melting Pot" because its people come from many countries all over the world. That diversity has its advantages and disadvantages.
And I'm pretty sure not all Canadians are from Scotland. Try telling that to a person in Quebec and see what their reaction is. You may not understand what they say in French.
Quebec was ruled by Scotsmen like the rest of Canada. Montreal was a Scottish city back in the day.
@Asker Yes, and London was originally settled by the Romans. Does that mean that English people are all of Italian descent? And Scotland was originally settled by teh Vikings. Does that mean that all Scots are descended from Scandinavians?
English people are German, buddy. London was Anglo Saxon.
Yikes. I thought you left GaG. . . guess not 🙄
Not all Americans are of English descent. Some people may be of European descent (not necessarily English), some may have African ancestry, some may be of Asian or Hispanic descent, and some may also be mixed. Your assumption is quite flawed and stupid.
Northamptonshire I think?
We got an Englishwoman here, everybody!
I told you Americans were English! 👍
But not all Americans are from England though. Most of us have families that immigrated from all over the world and also there are Native Americans who have always been here.
What? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!😭😱

This is an untrue statement. What about the German immigrants of the 18th and 19th century? The Spanish who were living in Florida and out west before the Louisiana Purchase? The French of Louisiana? The Native Americans of the country? The Dutch? The Africans who were brought here? So many more.
name map will show where in uk your surname is most common. It's a good guide to where your ancestors came from. But remember the spelling may have changed
Mine are all from Yomamashire, which is right outside the City boundaries of Schaefer which abuts the western edge of the Town of Funkee.
I'm not. My family didn't come over on the Mayflower.
I don't know but a lot of my family is from Ireland; Donegal and Cork. This I know-
My people were from Gwynedd and Glamorgan! So definitely NOT English!!! 🏴
It's widely known that not ALL Americans are of English descent. Do research first.
Just another day on GaG. The asker is a troll who makes questions like this very often.
The fck would we know? Which has the most crime? That’s prob where we’re from. :)
My brother and sister are American, but me and my parents are Croatians. So I don't know about that
I am from Scandinavia, a direct descendent of Ragnar Lothbrok.
I’m not of English descent.
I'm of German and norwegian descent. Not English.
