My Mom used to say "I came here during the depression and I've been depressed ever since".
What county did your people originate from?
My Mom used to say "I came here during the depression and I've been depressed ever since".
British/Irish though if you go really far back Germanic Anglo Saxon as my family tree from my Grandma on my dads side links me to Lady Godiva the one who rode a horse naked and Harold the King who died in battle of Hastings.
If you believe those family tree things to be accurate like my Grandma thinks.
Which means I must've descend from Ealdgyth who's children became more a mystery after she fled due to Harolds death and the history becomes more muddled.
A source suggests she may have moved to Ireland but my Irish comes from my grandad on my dad's side either way.
My father's parents came from Italy and my mothers parents came from Finland.

My family came primarily from England, Ireland, Wales, Germany, and Switzerland between 1620 and 1862.
My family has been here for generations and is such a melting pot. It's been impossible to trace our family tree back accurately 'cuz of lack of records and "fence jumping" but we are direct line descendants to the Wabanaki native Americans that lived in this area for generations. Add in some Canadian French 'cuz I guess back in the French/Indian war not all my ancestors were fighting. Now throw in some English, Scandinavian, Irish, etc.
So, pretty much, my people have been here in this area for a long , long time and just like my ancestors before me, I don't get out much and will prolly stay right here too.
@RandomGirl42
Do you mean you live in America?
lol, yes. I suppose I should have mentioned that in my long winded ramblings. 🤣
My father's family name came in 12th century to Pommerania with Teutonic Orden from a city in Switzerland. Later my ancestors are present in fief books and were part of polish nobility after Crusaders lost.
In 16th century my family coat of arms a black deer on yellow shield became part of bigger house after nobility reform. If nobility has a come back heraldic of my family name is black Buffalo Head on red shield.
From my mother side name, her ancestors came from Holland, Menonnites who dried very fertile Vistula delta. Otherwise it's everything mixed with Germans and Poles but this is in region where I'm living very common.
My great grandparents all escaped famine, war and genocide, my other parents half of the family were slaves until one of my great grandfather's was broken out of slavery by an Indian woman who was kicked out of her tribe for marrying a black man.
I come from a long line of relentlessly stubborn badasses lol
We have been here for hundreds of years but if you ask me, from 1000 or 5000 years where did we come from? Still might be from here or somewhere around my country because our area and it's surroundings has the earliest human civilizations, unless we go back to the stone ages and the point of your origins which is Africa, cause the homosapiens had originated there!

As for my people I don’t think they originated from a country however I think they came from another planet.
As far as I have been able to trace it back, the vast majority from Belgium, with some influences from the north of France.
Ireland, scotland Germany America France England. My American root goes back millennia.
We never moved to America... still here, in South-East Europe.
Ireland in 1850 on my dad's side. My mom's family arrived from Ireland around the same time. They were all Irish Catholics.
Germany, Ireland, Scotland and Czechoslovakia
