+1 yIm originally from Chicago but I am now living in Florida.
Money is tough in america right now. Like insurance and housing is crazy expensive. People work long hours. There’s a lot of poor and homeless peoples. There’s a lot of income inequality. It’s a very unequal society. We have some of the worst politics and the media is even worse than that. The courts and prison system here are terrible. There’s a lot of violent crime in America. If you live in a big city you’ll regularly hear sirens throughout the day and night. If you walk in some of the bad areas of Chicago at night you will get robbed at gunpoint, not a maybe like 99% chance it will happen. There are gunshots almost every night in the bad areas of Chicago. It is a very dangerous city place past dark like more dangerous than active war zones, and many us cities are like that. Public transportation is terrible here and I mean terrible like 3rd world country level bad and that’s not even an exaggeration but everyone owns a car so it doesn’t really matter to most people.
The food here is fantastic. Barbecue is VERY good there is a lot of regional food that I like very much and you can easily find restaurants of any ethnicity even if U live in a small town. There is tons of diversity here. In a big city you will likely see people from all over the world if you look hard enough. You have a good deal of freedom with the law. Lots of things are legal here that aren’t in much of the world. People are very friendly here and are very easy to talk to. Americans like to talk a lot.
you have lots of options I’m general for consumer goods but that’s becoming more and more irrelevant with the internet. There’s lots of nice wildlife and nature to see here. There is a very big range of climates and terrains here so u can get a pick. It’s really nice to live in a major world power because there is something about the security that comes with it that gives u peace of mind. It is nice to love an ocean away from most of the world because there is less international drama that way.
I don't know I think that’s long enough.11 Reply

Pros: diversity in job opportunities, availability of rare hard to find things, cost of food and groceries, nearly all our highways and interstates are free, large country with diverse beautiful landscapes...
**** Most of the things people think are only in the US are available abroad. ****
Cons: long work weeks, life work balance is awful, health care is absolutel garbage by international standards, average restaurant is terrible, pay is not that great, retirement options are limited, tax system is insanely complicated, transit systems are awful, two party politics trapping representative options, banking and currency exchange is absolutely stupid, the right and left are far too emboldened against each other, road side litter, extreme wealth gap,...
Go to any rural area of any country and you'll meet the same [pick any 2+] dumb-as-nails, nationalistic, narrow-minded, easily-triggered, prejudice/racist, bigots as in the US. Yes, I experienced prejudice in cities abroad, but not near as much as rural areas.00 Reply
+1 yI don't live in the US, but if I did, my worst fear would be hospital bills... I have a rare medical condition, a benign tumour and other things. So, let's calculate the cost!
When I was young, I spent about a week in the hospital. Then, a few years later, I stayed one day. According to google, the cost for a hospital stay is 5,220 dollars per day.
I got into an ambulance once, so thats +1200$. Three ER visits = 150 - 20 000$/visit (let's say 30 000 for the three visits). Then, finally, surgery which would be around 10 000 dollars! If we add it, it would be around 82 960$ just for *my* medical bills.. Yikes!00 Reply

But you got guns though
- +1 y
And oil

Our guns can be taken away at any moment. People with my skin color are literally murdered in America for practicing our right to open carry
- +1 y
I agree that our fire arms can be taken away at any time. I also agree that people with any skin color have a drastically increased chance of a fatal interaction with police when openly carrying a fire arm.
- +1 y
It’s not any skin color, it’s people of color
- +1 y
Even if we are unarmed we can be murdered by cops and people will try to justify it still

Ah confirmation bias and a victim complex, a bad combo. You are young so I can't blame you, as your opinions and world view are not completely your own yet. I just hope you keep having conversations with people (like this one). It's a great way to learn and grow.

I'm too simple I guess.. take me to the jungle in Mexico and South America w/a nice new Tahoe or Silverado (not electric!) and let me see all the pretty animals and plants. I'll rest peacefully like that. But I do want at least a LV or Dior purse! lol31 Reply- +1 y

1.1K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I can't think of anything but cons. If you live in Europe you don't want to downgrade to US.
We have better healthcare,
We got better work conditions and rights.
We get more for our taxes.
We have safer countries.
And if you live elsewhere move to Europe not the US.13 Reply- +1 y
I live in the US and it’s not perfect but I really like my life and quality of living.

Yes I have but I have not lived in another country. I’m not one of those Americans that thinks it’s the best country in the world but I’ve seen a lot worst so I’m pretty content where I’m at.
I don't know, because I'm not American lol.
The advantages I would say that you would live in a democratic country, rich and powerful, that American culture radiates throughout the world.
Disadvantages, I would say may be the medical system.00 Reply

Opinion Owner+1 yKeep your hands of my guns and stop trying to fiddle with little kids
Opinion Owner+1 yLies. Where I came from they tried to ban ARs and boxed magazines over 10 rounds. They also took away our right to carry
But we are coming back with a vengeance with constitutional carry. Ofc they want to fiddle with little kids. Why else to freaks want to talk sexual with 6 year olds?
Opinion Owner+1 yThe only reason you want to talk sex to a 5 year old is because you wanna f*ck the 5 year old. F*cking all of you are pedos

24 Reply- +1 y
What’s retarded units?
- +1 y
The imperial system. Miles, yards, feets, inches, pounds, fahrenheit etc.
The metric system is a lot more accurate and faster to use and calculate. Km, meter, mm, gram, celsius.
I do a lot of engineering and robotic system builds. Would be a real pain the ass 😗 - +1 y
Ohhh yea I wish that we used the same units as everyone else.

At least the time is pretty universal.
Otherwise "days" would be 7,3 couchnaps long and etc 😅

Oh my Lord, Obama days? Have you figured it out yet?
Opinion Owner+1 yYes, things largely began deteriorating around that time. I tend to identify more closely with conservatives but that's not to say everything was peaches and cream under conservative rule. This was supposed to be the land of the free but apparently conservative government thought that didn't apply to people who wanted to partake in anal. It's not freedom if you're only free to do the things they are okay with you doing.
- +1 y
This is an interesting take on things. May one suggest "The Rubin Report" of youtube fame and comedic Californian ex democrat who enjoys Trump and moving to Florida?
- +1 y
What I am doing here is weird, as in if you have Hulu, watch Season 2 Episode 3 of Frasier. It's hilarious as all get out, keep in mind Niles in real life is gay, yet he's straight as an arrow in the show, said no one. Most people could not care less. Don't let Democrats rule your roost.
- +1 y
Yet the surprise is, well watch it. A story about straight people being confused as to figuring out a date for an English hottie. Yet Frasier well. Just watch it. And the old man, talk of young cops. It's a master of an episode.
- +1 y
If you haven't figured it out by now, your saying "It's not freedom if you're only free to do the things they are okay with you doing." That's a leftist lie. So, take it all in, and soak in the fact that Kelsey Grammer is indeed a Trump Guy.
Opinion Owner+1 yI sent have Hulu and I'm hardly following what you're saying, but that statement is not a lie, let alone a leftist lie, and if it is, I encourage you to actually verbally explain why.
- +1 y
I need not explain anything other than we just want to all be American, if that sounds like bull, join the liberals.
Opinion Owner+1 yI'm not going to join the liberals but your needless combativeness and "us or them" mentality is sure to drive potential conservative voters away.
