What are the pros and cons of living in the US for you?

Im originally from Chicago but I am now living in Florida.
Money is tough in america right now. Like insurance and housing is crazy expensive. People work long hours. There’s a lot of poor and homeless peoples. There’s a lot of income inequality. It’s a very unequal society. We have some of the worst politics and the media is even worse than that. The courts and prison system here are terrible. There’s a lot of violent crime in America. If you live in a big city you’ll regularly hear sirens throughout the day and night. If you walk in some of the bad areas of Chicago at night you will get robbed at gunpoint, not a maybe like 99% chance it will happen. There are gunshots almost every night in the bad areas of Chicago. It is a very dangerous city place past dark like more dangerous than active war zones, and many us cities are like that. Public transportation is terrible here and I mean terrible like 3rd world country level bad and that’s not even an exaggeration but everyone owns a car so it doesn’t really matter to most people.

The food here is fantastic. Barbecue is VERY good there is a lot of regional food that I like very much and you can easily find restaurants of any ethnicity even if U live in a small town. There is tons of diversity here. In a big city you will likely see people from all over the world if you look hard enough. You have a good deal of freedom with the law. Lots of things are legal here that aren’t in much of the world. People are very friendly here and are very easy to talk to. Americans like to talk a lot.
you have lots of options I’m general for consumer goods but that’s becoming more and more irrelevant with the internet. There’s lots of nice wildlife and nature to see here. There is a very big range of climates and terrains here so u can get a pick. It’s really nice to live in a major world power because there is something about the security that comes with it that gives u peace of mind. It is nice to love an ocean away from most of the world because there is less international drama that way.

Having lived variously across the US and internationally in France, Spain, and Australia, plus extensive travel in the US (42 states) and around the world (30 countries):
Pros: diversity in job opportunities, availability of rare hard to find things, cost of food and groceries, nearly all our highways and interstates are free, large country with diverse beautiful landscapes...

Cons: long work weeks, life work balance is awful, health care is absolutel garbage by international standards, average restaurant is terrible, pay is not that great, retirement options are limited, tax system is insanely complicated, transit systems are awful, two party politics trapping representative options, banking and currency exchange is absolutely stupid, the right and left are far too emboldened against each other, road side litter, extreme wealth gap,...
Go to any rural area of any country and you'll meet the same [pick any 2+] dumb-as-nails, nationalistic, narrow-minded, easily-triggered, prejudice/racist, bigots as in the US. Yes, I experienced prejudice in cities abroad, but not near as much as rural areas.

I don't live in the US, but if I did, my worst fear would be hospital bills... I have a rare medical condition, a benign tumour and other things. So, let's calculate the cost!
When I was young, I spent about a week in the hospital. Then, a few years later, I stayed one day. According to google, the cost for a hospital stay is 5,220 dollars per day.
I got into an ambulance once, so thats +1200$. Three ER visits = 150 - 20 000$/visit (let's say 30 000 for the three visits). Then, finally, surgery which would be around 10 000 dollars! If we add it, it would be around 82 960$ just for *my* medical bills.. Yikes!

Pros:
Living standards are good especially if you are middle class or above.
Progress is available if you work towards it.
Good quality education especially higher education.
Very good hospitals and best doctors in the world.
Best professional sports team and athletes in the world only in select cities though.
Amazing seasons year around especially in select states and cities.
Amazing entertainment (Hollywood for movies and shows, and theme parks and night life for fun and parties.
Amazing national landscape and national parks.
Free speech and expression is still protected under the law at least for now.
Freedom to practice your religion.
Very safe to live except in poor ghetto areas.
Great and powerful military for defense.

Cons:
Politics is extremely divisive.
Prison system is trash.
Law enforcement (cops) are mostly trash.
Healthcare is very expensive.
Higher education is very expensive.
Racism is still a problem but that's mostly every country.

Overall the U. S. is a good country. B+

Pros: Health, life insurance, GMC/Chevy.. can't think of much else?
Cons: Egotistical, materialistic, narcissistic, and fame fanatic people.
I'm too simple I guess.. take me to the jungle in Mexico and South America w/a nice new Tahoe or Silverado (not electric!) and let me see all the pretty animals and plants. I'll rest peacefully like that. But I do want at least a LV or Dior purse! lol

I can't think of anything but cons. If you live in Europe you don't want to downgrade to US.

We have better healthcare,
We got better work conditions and rights.
We get more for our taxes.
We have safer countries.

And if you live elsewhere move to Europe not the US.

The advantages I would say that you would live in a democratic country, rich and powerful, that American culture radiates throughout the world.

Disadvantages, I would say may be the medical system.

The pros: right to be armed, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, right to own private property. The cons: the left is trying to take that all away, groom and rape your kids, make everything too expensive to afford, and start another war but this time with Russia.

From MD, but I'm thinking of moving to Canada, probably Ontario. The living costs are quite high here but people mind their own business and there's an abundance of opportunities and rewards for entrepreneurs
