Can you educate someone not to be a racist.

No. Racism is insecurity. The only way to cure that is to make them secure, but there is no practical way to do that for anyone let alone huge chunks of the population.

Like, take a town with a lot of racism in it and give everyone the superpower of invincibility. The racism would cease immediately because there would be no competition over food (since no one can starve) and no fear of being robbed or assaulted (since no one can be hurt). This undercuts pretty much all of the narratives the media likes to push about "other" races being hungry violent thieves. And the reason the media pushes those narratives is because they know it works. So maybe the cure for racism is to get the media to stop pushing those narratives. Like when it was found a lot of Asians marched in the BLM protests after the massage parlor massacre, suddenly a video of a black man assaulting an elderly Asian woman popped up and the media played it on a loop for like a solid month to make sure the Asians knew to be afraid of black people instead of white people. Sometimes I still wonder if the video was staged.

The best way as I see it is like this: But people seem to see racism and sexism and things like that as something very distinct. I just see it in the broad category of distinguishing people from "our kind" vs. "their kind". That even applies between, say, nerds and jocks, atheists and religious people, etc. The best way to overcome differences is for people to talk with each other.

I believe it starts when you are a young child and what you were taught. I can only speak about myself here. When I was growing up with a single mother, she never said much about different races. So if someone isn't preprogramming your thoughts as a child going forth, there really isn't anything to say bad about different races. I grew up in a very large city during the desegregation days. My city and my school's were a melting pot for all races. In spite of the black girls constantly bullying me, I never hated THEM, but I hated what they did to me.
So the answer here would be don't make it an issue in your family and don't teach your children about being a racist. You can tell them the definition of the word, but don't constant talk about it.
Now advancing to the present, I really resent that just because I am white, people on the left insist I am racist when I am not, and never have been. I just wasn't raised that way.
The people on the left need to stop (including black people) need to stop this horrible lie that all white people are racist! It's a lie!

The USA does not have a racism problem. Democrats and the mass newz media has. The way to avert racism is to not trach it to your children.
