I get your point but that doesn't make sense to me. People are who they are. I don't mind hearing others saying that I'm black because that's part of who I am.

In some cases is self-hatred and in others depends on how people say it. You can say that someone is black without offending them.

What would the point be of pretending to be something you aren’t? It is difficult to maintain for very long and will anger everyone you have built relationships with in the interim as well as make them wonder what else you’ve been lying about.
