To be honest I don't know a lot about geopolitics but I know that the guy has always been sketchy and borderline. He is basically reigning on Russia, I won't say that he is dictating but I feel he is about to cross the line.
Like I've said I don't know a lot about geopolitics but on the news I saw what his soldiers have done. Execute people, tying them and shoot them in the head. Destroy their home, search for valuable stuff and of course killing them. What's next? Raping women and children? Maybe I make a big deal about it but I find it horrifying.

I'd say if anything, it'd be LACK of poutine that's a war crime; what we ought to do is hand it over the Cubans to see what they could make, then unite the US, Mexico, Canada, and Cuba into the North American Nacho Alliance. I'm not sure what actual *purpose* that would serve, other than to advance the cause of nachos, but I don't see that as a problem, and- oh, wait, you mean "Putin", don't you? Yeah, that's less "tasty" and more "horrific". We have too much "horrific" in the world, I think. I seem to recall hearing that the croissant was invented to celebrate some victory in the Crusades, and I know that the pizza Margherita was invented as a tribute to an Italian queen of that name; could we go back to doing that for a while instead of committing atrocities?

The thing is this: what you're seeing is propaganda. That famous shot of the Vietnamese guy shooting a handcuffed prisoner in the head? That many people showed the horrors of war by having a helpless captive killed without trial? Yeah, that "helpless captive" was the head of a VC murder squad assigned to kill Vietnamese police officers (not military; POLICE), and if those officers couldn't be found, their FAMILIES would be killed instead. He was caught next to a ditch where he was burying 34 innocent people he and his men had killed, among them the wife and six kids of a friend of Nguyen Loan, the guy pulling the trigger, who was chief of police at the time. Those six kids were also Loan's godchildren. Once the war ended, Loan (by all accounts a wonderful man who spent his time building hospitals and giving gifts to orphans) emigrated to America and opened up a pizza parlor- until his identity leaked, and death threats forced him to shut it down.

It's pretty damn clear that Putin's the bad guy here- but that doesn't mean he's the ONLY bad guy. Zelensky has seized control of the Ukrainian media and banned opposition political parties- does that sound heroic to you? Look very closely before you praise or condemn. There's a war on, and the first casualty of war is always truth. No one's immune to propaganda- not you, not me, nobody.

Russia maintains VETO POWER on Security Commission SO no recommendation will make it pass Security Council.
—Give a tyrant enough rope and he will hang himself. Russia is heading for China post Mao when China went dark. At that point, Russia will go into Baltic States and reclaim Soviet territories AS Putin has nothing to lose.
—Putin thinks the new Mao is his friend, however, Xi wants that territory that Russia stole from China WW 1 or WW2. I can’t remember but I think WW2.
—Oligarchs are actually going to suffer. The ones that leave are likely to return once Putin is shot or dragged out of Power. —The military is not fully behind Putin. The results and strategies to target “Civilian Entities” shows Weakness and Tarnishes the Russian Nationalistic Pride.

How can we know anything?
Any form of russian media has been blocked and all we are bombarded with is biased western narratives.
Everyone keeps talking avout what a monster putin is.
The reality is, in this world there are no monsters just opposing views, one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter.
This war is a terible thing and Vlad is no saint that's for sure, but he is not the only contributor here, it takes 2 to tango and in this case even more than 2.
So if Putin has to answer for some kind of crime then so does every other leader involved in the Ukrain situation

I certainly don't think that he should be being judged by people or countries with a long history of being war criminals.

There is a lot of noise in the British media atm about UN veto's and the targeting of civilians etc but where was the outrage when the US was vetoing action against it because of all the dark side shit it was doing?

What about the half million Iraqi children who died because we blew the shit out of all their infrastructure and hospitals etc?

Why has the US gov been caught saying that they are really concerned about Russians getting control of bio research facilities in Ukraine?

Crimes against humanity might be a stretch. He does not openly mistreat his people like Kim Jong the dumbass does.

However, he is certainly guilty of war crimes. He started a war unprovoked and his actions against the Ukrainians could be construed as genocide.

I'm not familiar with war crimes enough to comment on that, but he certainly has caused people to die and I think it's horrible that it's likely that he won't be negatively impacted by it at all. Theh might sanction Russia, but he'll be fine in his palace eating well while the sanctions affect the economy and subsequently innocent Russian civilians. The protection leaders have is just absolutely nuts.
