I’m just asking would you care if other people thought you were ugly looking.
I am not asking would you care if other people thought you were ugly. There is a difference.

I can think another person is good looking or ugly looking but still not tell them my opinion about their looks.

I used to care when I was a teenager in high school. A girl called me that once unprompted and I took it very personally looking in the mirror and trying to see what was wrong with me. I didn't think I looked so bad until then. I blamed it on my slightly-crooked nose that I got from a nasal fracture in childhood while skateboarding.

I got over it though once I started dating and getting girlfriends. I figure I'm not everyone's cup of tea but it wasn't so hard to find women who seemed to like my looks once I started overcoming some of my teenage shyness and awkwardness.

Actually, with my first girlfriend, I was still paranoid about my crooked nose thinking that's making me so ugly now. So I asked her about it and even turned my head up so that she can see it more clearly and she looked very closely and said she didn't even notice until I pointed it out to her. :-D After that I stopped being insecure about my nose.
