Why are bigoted thoughts wrong if a person never acts on them?

if a person hates a group, but just avoids them and never interacts with them, why is this bad?
i really despise attractive women, so i just avoid them and think they're cunts.
surely bigotry is only wrong if it's acted upon?

Partially you are correct, there is no such thing as thought crimes but on the other side they are just objectively wrong which is never really a good thing even if they dont act on it.

As I get older. I'm starting not to care and avoid certain groups of people. I don't wanna talk to them, hear the sound of there voice or even see them.
