You are only capable of what you think you are. YOU may never reach financial freedom, but I have every intention and ability to achieve financial success.

My husband and I have prioritized financial freedom. I don't know what you consider rich, but we have defined a goal, formulated a plan to achieve said goal, and have been making consistent steady strides to reach it.

We discovered the Dave Ramsey Baby Steps in January 2020 and are now reaping the rewards of that program. Personal finance is personal and we have chosen to follow this plan.

And no, our income was not outrageous when we started. When we started out we were a 1-income household. I was working and my husband was in school. It was my income (~55K) that got us out of debt and put us on track to be very comfortable in retirement. We could have continued living on the 55K and still be millionaires by the time we retired. We are now a 2-income household and we moved when my husband got a job and my new job pays significantly more than my old one. Our household income is now 6-figures, but remember, we were already out of debt when our income went up. We will not achieve financial success BECAUSE our income increased, we will just do so faster.

"Rich" is relative. Ten years ago, when I was desperately struggling to find a job, I didn't count myself as rich, but I was eating every single day, usually multiple TIMES a day, and had a full-blown roof over my head. Today, well, today none of that's true. But compare me to the full-on homeless people, even those around here, and suddenly I look a LOT better. Compare THEM to the average person in Freetown, and they look like kings.

I will, once I get things straightened out, have enough- and that, as they say, is enough. How much do you really need?

I actually think we’ll all be happier because we have upward movement to look forward to. Instantly rich celebs are the ones who get into trouble, go to jail etc, because nothing is new about their lives.

No, I have done better in life than I thought I would so it's all good. It would be nice to have some extra money but I am okay with what Ihave.

No. I've never had that kind of ambition. I want to be happy instead and work towards an easy retirement. That's my level of ambition.
