Why is it so hard to be a good person in this world?

Different people have different needs and expectations. Oftentimes people create a routine that gets too big that there is not much time left to do anything else. It can also be the way people distance themselves from strangers, stranger danger is a culture many of us grew up with as kids. Different people have a different picture of what a good person is supposed to be like. I can see it being difficult to be a good person when one sees people taking advantage of them or the homeless person that one chose to help used what one gave them to replenish their drugs or habits. It becomes very challenging to do good when one expects to be rewarded for the deed; to overcome that challenge, there must be a motive and a goal to set out and achieve.
