Freedom of speech or freedom of press grants individuals we're reporting a story especially ones have a difficult nature the security and protection of knowing they will not be retaliated against or killed.

Social media firms and other private entities have no responsibilities as a matter of fact they can silence. Anyone or anything they feel is inappropriate, unless you're willing to fork over copious amounts of money then you can invade every level of people’s privacy

You're wrong, of course.

There is no such legal thing as "Freedom of speech" or "freedom of press". These are actually an oversimplification of many different laws and legislations on both matters.

You actually have "freedom of speech within the law", out of which you can be jailed or sued if you speak certain words or of certain legally protected things.

Likewise the press has a criminal record as bad as US cops. They get sued for libel, trespass and misinformation and others, more than you think you know.

Regarding "tech" they are multinationals, and thus have to fit into many different legal systems. This of course affects how they work and run. It's why they have a ToS instead of relying solely on the country's laws. But like any business they are subject to laws, but not a part of government process.

1) people seem so inspired to fork over all their data to social sites without a thought.
2) money in politics makes it easier for big tech CEOs to buy laws that protect them
3) so they don’t have to worry about getting sued when their data is hacked and all our info is in the hands of Putin.
4) but again…people are so stupid that they freely give out their info
