#1 is guns. I watched the Buffalo shooter’s video. I watched the kid —a kid who I would FUCK UP in a fistfight— catch like seven bodies in under 40 seconds with his video game gun. Half of them didn’t even realize they were in danger, their lights just got put out by some crazy asshole in a split second. That sent me down a rabbit hole of shooting footage, and between the gang shootings, the “git off muh property” redneck who shot his girl’s ex with a shotgun ultimately over the good-spirited problem of them both wanting time with their child, and seeing a dude go quadriplegic mid-sprint WITH SOUND so you can hear the horror of the scream of a man realizing he’ll never move again, which I’m pretty sure will haunt my dreams and my conscious thoughts forever…. I’m just not seeing what there is to root for for the homo sapien. I grow more misanthropic by the day as I become increasingly aware of how deplorable of a species of animal we are. I saw all kinds of shootings. Sometimes the good guy “won”, sometimes the bad guy “won”, sometimes you couldn’t tell who was good or bad, but in all cases, I was sick to my stomach at the end that we are the one animal that crafted a machine that fires deadly metal projectiles from a safe distance where you can escape unharmed, without putting yourself in harms way as you put someone else in the ultimate peril….. that is EVERYTHING that’s wrong with human life right now. What a bunch of pussies we are. “Can’t fight, might not win and get a nosebleed, so instead I’ll just shoot this guy because, in my own mind, I’m right and he’s wrong, so fuck everyone and everything else, it’s all about me”…. BANG! It just makes me not want to leave the house, not because I’m scared of it, but because associating with other people who think this is alright is just the opposite of the way I want to spend my life. We have some really awful people in this country, when it comes down to it. And it’s all because people are scared to lose a physical confrontation, that’s literally all there is to it when you get down to the brass tacks of it. Unbelievably pussy mentality.

#2 is probably public opining about politics from nearly everyone. Like I said before, humans are pretty damn deplorable on the whole, and the last thing I need is my ear holes filled up with their stupid thoughts and idiotic opinions. I think we all have delusions of grandeur that we’re smart and insightful. The truth is that we are a horrible and selfish animal, and most of what we have to say seems to be best left unsaid. I’m just old enough to remember a time when it was common to hold the belief of “keep your politics to yourself”, that it’s impolite and uncouth to discuss that stuff in mixed company, for the very reason that it’s divisive. Now everyone seems to love the drama of that division and seeks out forums to shout nonsense into the air. I mean, we’re all here, guilty as charged, lmfao.

#3 is this concept of “fake news” and the trendiness of buying into conspiracy theories. Now people just wish away anything that paints them negatively as “fake news”, and I’m not saying there are no biases, I watch FoxNews and CNN lie their asses off ROUTINELY, but now it’s become a catch-all for every idiot that gets caught doing or saying some dumb shit. It’s like the “my account was hacked” excuse over controversial social media posts, lmao. I don’t know man, it’s a huge world with a bajillion events happening…I’m sure SOMETHING shady happens here and there…but these broad theories that pop up, VERY obviously just to provide an excuse to not do something they’re being asked to do, or sully a name they want to see sullied for their own gain.

I don’t know, I probably could’ve done this quicker and just said “1. Humanity; 2. Humanity; 3. Humanity”, but that’s not very exciting to read, lmao.

Just wanted the full reality of it. These things happen all the time, but we never really get to see them. We kind of got to see the Las Vegas country music concert shooting a few years back, you at least got a sense of the fear in the crowd, but we don’t know much about the shooter, I don’t think they even had a clue as to the motive. But this kid had a helmet cam. The presentation was literally the same as every first-person shooter video game, Call Of Duty, whatever everyone is playing these days. First person POV with the hands and rifle barrel visible. It almost made it easier to watch, because you could disassociate from it a bit because it looked so video game-y. But my biggest takeaway is how easily and quickly this kid wasted people. I don’t know what kind of gun he had, but it had real stopping power.

Pulls up his car, gets out, immediately hip fires two headshots (I have to reluctantly acknowledge that the kid was a good shot) on the first girl, blows away two women by the doors, lays down a dude behind her loading his groceries in his car. All that in 3 seconds. THREE SECONDS, FOUR DEAD BODIES. Absolutely fucking bananas. I had that store under my supervision at my last job, we had product in there, only visited twice because it was all the way in Buffalo, obviously, but I walked in those same doors before, stood in that same spot where those two ladies were gunned down. That makes it even crazier. But the ease with which this kid wiped out these people was mind blowing. If there were armed guards at the ready posted up right there, he still would’ve gotten those four people before they could’ve reacted. Just outrageous that we have these things. I’m not a “ban guns” guy, I think it’s foolish to ban a thing that exists. It will just always bother me that they do exist, that’s all, and that so many people are so fascinated by them and so attached to them…. it’s the mentality surrounding their existence as well as their existence. There’s nothing to be done about it, it just makes me sad in my soul, that’s all.

3. So many insist on playing games to try to circumvent ID laws, even when they have the means to comply. They don't care that a cashier or other worker's life and future could be on the line! (Until their own lives are also on the line. But some are too incorrigibly stupid to figure that out.).
