5.7K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I think something that always plagues every generation.
We who are older get annoyed by the "freaking out" of the younger because of "new" crises.
And worse, humans are just impatiently stupid. Instead of asking why like a normal 2-year old constantly does, they just want a quick answer from any "authority" even if that "answer" is bullshit or propaganda.
In other words, when you put it altogether, the laziness or lack of intelligence to rationally think and do due diligence combined with impatience and a lack of emotional control, causes people to make bad decisions. And, worse, because we live in a democracy, when most of the people are like that, the national as a whole makes bad decisions so we who have our shit together are forced to suffer the effects of those bad decisions.
===
For instance, so many people this past election cycle voted GOP because they are freaking out about inflation.
Is inflation bad? Yes, generally, inflation is not a good thing.
Is THIS inflation bad? No, not really. The worst was in June when the monthly inflation rate was 9.1%. By comparison, the inflation rate in 1980 was 14%.
Why are we having inflation? It's all Biden's fault, right? No, not really. It's primarily a combination of 3 factors:
1) The post-COVID economic recovery caused demand when supply was short because of COVID-19 causing a slowdown. Economics 101 has the demand-supply curve, and prices go up when demand is higher than supply.
2) Also, because of the growth, unemployment was lower which pushes up wages to hire workers and thus those costs get passed down into prices.
2) The Russo-Ukraine War which lowered the supply of energy and wheat thus raising prices.
What are we going to do? Exactly what we did 40+ years ago to slaughter inflation the first time.
But the median age in the USA is 38 meaning over 1/2 the population wasn't even alive when we last had inflation and, those under 50 have little memory of the inflation from the 1970s. So, since they grew up in good times, once there's a bump in the road, they become Chicken Little screaming that the sky is falling and, instead of determining the root causes of the problem or research what had been done in the past, they scream out against the closest scapegoat they can find and vote accordingly. So, what does the GOP do: "Psssst. Biden's President - it's all his fault! There wasn't this sort of inflation when Trump was President". Well, they're right - inflation wasn't this bad under Trump - because of The Great Lockdown aka the COVID-19 global recession. You don't HAVE inflation when times are really bad.10 Reply

Everyone's a fucking pussy and crybaby who expects the world to kiss their ass and for them to always get their way with minimal to no effort to the point people under 30 can't even handle not getting their way anymore. Everyone is way too soft and I hate it.
I'm not even saying, "don't complain," cause I'm not that type of person. I'm saying, if you DO complain, your problems better be actual problems, instead of First-World, Upper Middle Class, White Woman "problems" like Trader Joe's being out of almond milk, or someone "misgendering" you because you're an idiot not to be taken seriously.
Maybe it's because my life has been so shitty and filled with no family or love, that I hate these fucking pussies whining about nothing, while having everything in the world and being more privileged than literally 99% of the people on Earth. Which is likely why woke people and snowflakes are usually upper middle class first-worlders.

Definitely almost everyone does expect the world nowadays, except is still noble people who are service job workers or have been service workers of some form of another, serving others, especially retail or similar. 👌👍😜
+1 ySome or most people can be overly-demanding and impatient. More so the impatient part. I sometimes think those without any form of belief, even harmless belief like the flying spaghetti Monster or a teapot in space to believe in, they're mostly all very pushy and impatient nowadays people's. Like, they can't even wait for things, lol, and I think it's usually due to having lack of belief or being a no religion or no spirituality person either, they're just wanting everything they can out of this life and don't care how pushy or how many toes they tread on.
Phew, rant over 😜😜😜
00 ReplyEverything is so reactionary, it's awful. I'm tired of trying to talk with people, liberals especially (although I have met a couple conservatives who do this too), and have to sift through a sea of personal attacks, bad faith sea lioning, and refusal to interface with factual evidence; simply because I disagree with them on some minor point.
Fuck society, man lol

20 ReplyEvery generation thinks that they are " IT"... we did, now I am 63 today and have seen many trends and changes. Smart phones and instant info... what doesn't change is needing money a home cars and sex. Music can cross any generation what irritates me are those who think other generations were or are stupid. You didn't pick when you were born. Each generation I have witnessed had good and bad characteristics.

22 ReplyThe lack of fight by the people. There is a slow and observable decline into indentured servitude, but the people lack the backbone to stop it.

Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yThat we've had warnings from Christian leaders to stop sinning, and turn from our wicked ways, for such a long time, and we've actually gotten MORE sinful. God's Judgment has started, and it will get worse and worse as time goes on. SOOOO many people are being turned over to a Reprobate Mind, and persecution against the good and holy among us is increasing. THIS is what I find most irritating.

It really angers me to see how direct and intentional the attacks against Christians and Christianity have been. Time Magazine keeps running articles about how “dangerous” “Christian nationals” are. I grew up believing in God and country. What’s so wrong about that? What’s so terrible about being a Christian?
Opinion Owner+1 y@Agagagagaga Our Communist persecutors realize that true conservative Christian values STREANGTHIN our nation, rather than DESTROY our nation, which is what their boss (Satan) actually wants. And the number of people professing to be Christian has been decreasing. Truly a sad situation
