I can't speak to any 'society' but my local one, in the North Central US. I am white, and there has been A HUGE ISSUE with racism, and Police being "racist", and "abuses of power", over the last year! At least two major issues, locally, that I know of, in just the last 12 months.
How is it, that we have become SO DIVIDED, as a NATION, and have all these racial issues, riots, and police abuses? Maybe it is a long term thing, and I am somehow not aware, being white, but with COVID, and then the Racial things, aren't people more confused, upset, maybe anxious, and afraid?
Millions are buying guns! That, ALONE, leads me to believe that many have lost trust, faith in the government, and Police, to protect them, and maintain order.
With all the recent riots, and the storming of the Capitol, in January, it is OBVIOUS that the Police are either unwilling, or unable, to maintain order, when so many times the National Guard, the Governor's Gestapo, has been called up, to enforce something just less than Martial Law!
How is that happening, in the UNITED STATES? Maybe some of the Germans, asked that, in the 1930's. . .

there's been a focus for some time on what separates us rather than similarities. Homosexuality, transgenderism, black pride, gay pride, feminism, mgtow, etc. Each of these focused differences have been made out to be a victim in some way and told that some other group as a whole is the cause when in fact all have the capacity to be evil, selfish, self serving individuals. Deciding to believe that whole groups of people are all good or all bad doesn't play out well. Anytime the bad in whatever group is pointed out and not denounced and dealt with as in disfellowshiped or excommunicated it doesn't help others to see that there are good intentions. As well as the concept of true forgiveness has been lost. Things from the past are not forgotten if a person has been working to improve. Refusing to have a balanced view of all data and facts creating bubbles where only seeing your group as the good oppressed people and the others are just hateful turns into what we see now. Add in the media and social networks censoring or only allowing one viewpoint or certain information to be seen and here we are.

It is ironic how the left preaches "tolerance", but they ignore (and even shit on) the mentally ill. An autistic young man was killed in jail recently by the corrections officers, yet it didn't gain any media attention. Instead, the media wants to always complain how "racist" or "transphobic" we are. It is bullshit. The focus is always on the wrong topics. Meanwhile, our nation faces a major mental health crisis and illegals are pouring in, overwhelming our systems. We give billions to foreign nations, yet we cannot even take care of our own. It is becoming more dystopian by the day.

The fact that looking attractive is such a huge advantage in everything in life and that a big chunk of people people will value you depending on how you look.

I'm not ugly myself so I never felt it but just imagining it for other people depresses me sometimes, when they see attractive people get all the nice things just because they're luckier with their genes.
I'm not saying all unattractive people feel that way, but most of them who are also my best friends feel that way, and it breaks my heart.

I wish we as humans didn't have so much natural bias to things like that, but I guess it's just the way it is.
