In many South European countries many actress and singer look North European. And in many European countries blonde celebrities are over represented. I wanted to post more example but i am limited by number of pictures.
Scientifically speaking it’s a fact that women have lighter skin then men. Because of this men are programmed to find skin lighter than their own attractive as it is a evolutionary sign of fertility. Therefore the lighter the skin the more beautiful you are considered in many societies. Some men are exceptions and like dark skin but this is the norm for humans. Women prefer Men to have skin slightly darker than that of themselves. This is just nature and has nothing to do with racism.

As far as I know pale skin was a sign of status in Asian countries. Having darker skin meant you were a peasant working in the fields. India for instance is basically a caste system has been for thousands of years. Basically the wealthy nobles historically live in the cities and were shaded from the hot sun.
Probably because the majority of the United States are white. Go to Pakistan and see what color they're biggest celebrity is, that goes for any country.
I wish they were not. I am biased. I am married to a warmly brown SE Asian. Taylor Swift looks cold to me.

I can only speak for desi celebs. Fairness creams have the highest sales figures in the subcontinent. Gora complex hai. Gora rang pata nahi kyun super desirable maanna jaata hai. Hum desi hain. Desi ki natural representation rakhni chahiay.
