Why do (so much) girls have so much compassion for bad boys?

This is not an attack or to be sexist or a judgement, just out of curiosity. I feel bad for troubled people and good guy with edgy moral incentive with a tragic flaw who fell from grace in a understandable way and became bad guy

Happens for evolutionary reasons.

Sexual attraction is instinctive, not logical. Our instincts come from the most primitive part of our brains, where the programming has remained unchanged since people lived in caves.

In those times a woman and her children needed a man who could hunt well and protect them. A passive wimp would be useless in those time. Thus they evolved to be attracted to men who seem to be strong, courageous, and capable of violence if need be.

Maybe, but still, a bad man is more likely to be skilled in violence or at least willing to throw down than a good man, at least today.

I think girls have an attraction for free spirited adventurous wild boys and strong rebellious boys and troubled boys
