What do you think about the arrests of the Patriot Front guys in Idaho?

A 911 caller reported seeing a "little army" of people in masks and with shields in a U-Haul truck on Saturday in Idaho. Responding officers stopped the vehicle about 10 minutes later and 31 people in "similar attire" were arrested and all were members of Patriot Front. Police said that they believe that the individuals arrested intended to riot at a local Gay Pride event.

Patriot Front is an American white nationalist and neo-fascist hate group. Part of the broader alt-right movement, the group split off from the neo-Nazi organization Vanguard America during the aftermath of the Unite the Right rally in 2017.

I hate that this happened as their rights were violated.

I'm glad this happened as it probably prevented a riot.

Right for police to intervene and examine what was going on in case it was a terrorist attack or act of violence.

I think wrong to detain. they were not armed. Riot gear... borderline argument "conspiracy to riot". Of what I've seen, they march and protest. should have released...

isn't that their right or is there a law against counter protest? If BLM can go around disrupting society, ruining peoples dinners, overturning tables, rioting, burning... and generally not be arrested, then seems disproportionate control. of what I've seen, they are less violent than other groups... so far. I've seen a whole group of armed men march up a mountain in georgia and were not arrested for conspiracy... and that be more concerning since are armed. police knew they werent' armed after they examined them.

If they show up without riot gear, in plain site they should be able to be present.

But in general, they should just march and leave other people alone, although they are getting free advertising via media... maybe thats the plan.

that's the "borderline" to me, that is preparing for conflict.. but didn't antifa have all that crap... and real weapons and gropus in blm? shiels are used for defense without weapons of offense. granted, another group could show up with weapons then it's a mess... thus police engement just.

id turn them loose, if they do damage, beat the snot out of them and put in jail. caveat... thats what they did with hitler and that turned out real bad...

I thnk I'd say the same if muslims marched acclaiming allah is god, or blm marched. let them march, antifa... ugh... I know they are violent and armed so doesn't seem realistic, but they can march if they want to.

but see why they clamp down... to avoid the riot which is hard to control. if we are going to do that, lets be consistent and establish some rules/laws that you can't show up with riot gear to protest, or masks. some civil rules should be ok. but that doesn't work... in ohio, can carry a gun without permit. ugh...

and to think this is going down in idaho. there's' more to this story I don't know.

I agreed, but holding them ... questionable and possibly will cause more problems... feeds the mentality of "the state is against them".

People should watch though... to see how one is to submit to the police. At least they got that right and many others could learn from it, if they paid attention... save a lot of lives.

Biden says they are the biggest threat to our democracy. there might be a couple of hundred of these guys in the whole country. Most won't get off the bar stool to overthrow the government.
