Honestly, I couldn’t care less about politics, I don’t involve myself, not even sure I’ll live out my life here. The ridiculousness of the Republican Party in the Trump era is what finally grabbed my attention. That’s the only time I’ve ever felt like “shit…. maybe I SHOULD start voting.” I’ve also moved in with my dad to take care of him these last few years, and he’s a big FoxNews guy, so it’s all I hear. I laugh when people try to say I’m brainwashed by liberal media, I hardly even consume media, period, I’m usually on the ice playing hockey, in the gym working out, or in the wilderness fishing. I’ve never been more unplugged from the mainstream world. So all I get is Fox, which doesn’t even tell you everything, but even the things they highlight as positives, and it’s the first I’ve heard of the news, I’m like “Jesus…that’s TERRIBLE. Why would you do that?” I don’t know if I’d find a home with the Democrats if I was into that shit, but I’m very organically turned off by what Republicans usually champion (or what they REALLY are championing under some more acceptable cloak), like turned off in my very soul.

But the misinformation, regardless of politics, is such a huge problem in this day and age of social media. You can tell one lie and it becomes fact to millions in minutes, simply because it suits what they want to hear. And anyone with the truth, they’ve conveniently pre-condemned as purveyors of “fake news.” “Fake news” is easily the worst thing to come from Trump’s presidency, and even candidacy, really, because it offers a catch-all deflection for anything negative that comes out. “That’s just fake news out to attack me and good, honest people like yourselves”, and morons eat that shit up readily. So now you’re perceived as bulletproof by those who wish to perceive you as such. And even now, while the January 6th committee is wheeling out witness after witness after witness, almost exclusively conservative republicans, most of whom readily admitted they wanted Trump to win, and they’re all testifying under oath (and these are lawyers, judges, etc…. they aren’t just going to perjure themselves) that all the election fraud stuff was bullshit, the Georgia election guy thoroughly debunked all of Trump’s claims in his state, as did the guy in Arizona. And these aren’t any heroes of mine saying this stuff, I don’t fuck with Bill Barr AT ALL, but he’s at at best honorable enough and at worst smart enough to know better than to go down with the SS Trump in what might end up a federal criminal case. And the only leg republicans have to stand on is the claim that this is all some kangaroo court, another “they’re out to get us” victim mentality, and all these people who were JUST fine to them are now RINOs and traitors because they are admitting the ever-increasingly preposterousness of Trump’s Big Lie. And they corner Republicans who are too scared to nut up for fear of losing the Trump-crazy faction of their party, and these guys are just like “hey! Look over there! Muh southern border! Critical race theory! Drag queens!” It’s as pathetic as it is transparent, and more so just hilarious to be a spectator for.
