I think it's cause everyone has a fear of being just normal or average, everyone wants to feel special in some way and frankly some of us just aren't.

I think some took the wrong meaning from advice to feel better, like they took the saying "turn your weakness into your stregth" but really they just glamorize their faults.
I just saw a bullshit saying " I may be difficult to handle but I'm difficult to get over too" that's not deep it's basiclly saying I'm a pain in the ass but you wouldn't know what to do with out me, so you better put up with my attitude.

It's just unchecked, undeserved pride in one's self, no one wants to fix their character flaws or just life with them, no they have to preach how "special" and unique they are and claim the flaws are amazing and make them better than you.

The world is fucking nuts now.

Generally in USA: Kierkegaard (Moral Relativism), Nietzche (God Is Dead), Jung (Make All that is Wrong, Right), Freud (Unconscious Self/Black-White Selfie, boyfriend Skinner (Conditions, impulse, Victorian clock), Carl Rodgers (Exterior Self transitioned from Freud into Colored Selfie).-Self-Actualization, Identity, Concept, Safety, and Uber focus upon what is Right for Self planted into a Moral Relativistic worldview.
