Trending & News Nah, that isn't true. Courts are extremely powerful. Because they are the ones who "interpret" the law. And being the interpreters, they can also misinterpret the law. Just like in the abortion ruling. The court makes the claim that the word "abortion" is not in the Constitution.
But neither are the words "fetus" or "unborn". So the court using hypocritical logic by applying a standard in one case. . . but not in another. And this is for political reasons, this is not about an attempt to apply the law fairly.
I think what some people are upset with right now is that people realize Supreme Court justices are appointed for life. And with the mix of judges we have right now they can affect policy they don't agree with for a longtime to come. They can't be voted out.
It's not that Americans don't understand. They're just not happy with it. But there is nothing in the constitution about how many judges and it has evolved over the years. Their a current movement gaining momentum to have the number increased. To sort of water down the decision making. And they feel while there's a demo ratio president obviously is the best time for that.
Well then why are people not held accountable for their crimes instead of the judge giving them low bail so they can get out and do other crimes, including murder? We have laws but they don't seem to be upheld in court.
