The question isn't about the fetus not being the woman's body. It's about the right of a person to police everything that relies on her for sustenance that is not a human being. Leeches and ticks rely on our blood for sustenance. Nobody has a problem if we remove and kill them because they're not humans. In my mind a fetus that needs the umbilical cord to survive is no more a human that a tadpole is a frog. Will it become a human, yes, but it isn't at the time just like a tadpole. To this day I have never seen tadpole legs sold, only frog legs, but nobody denies that the frog whose legs are being sold was once a tadpole.
@annabananna To me? Once it does not need to rely on the umbilical cord for life. Others think at conception or birth. I disagree with the former because I have never heard of a single cell being given the rights of a human, and that's what it is at that point. There's no clear answer. Also in the earliest stages a human fetus looks the same as an elephant's or pig's.

Yes, I've always wondered about the mental gymnastics that they need to do to think that a fetus' body is somehow theirs. When they get an abortion, it's not their heart that's stopping, it's not their body that's disappearing. It's someone else's. But they'll say whatever they need to to justify wanting to get out of their irresponsible decision. It's a survival mechanism.

In ways that cannot be explained in writing, nor does it show up on any medical tests. They loose something that is never to be seen again.
